Just how cool are Mzansi celebs?

We see them on red carpets, on their social media pages and on TV, but what is it really like to work with some of Mzansi’s stars? DRUM asked some industry journalists, photographers and producers about their experiences with working with some of your stars, here’s what they said;

Somizi

"Working with Somizi is always a joy. He is very professional and fun," Photographer.

Cassper Nyovest

"He is very humble, but also very distant when you speak to him. He is very precise about what he wants to put across as a brand and that can make an interview with him difficult," Journalist.

Khanyi Mbau

"If you don't know your story or what you need to do, working with Khanyi can be hard. That is because she knows what she wants and needs things to be organised. She is so much fun to shoot, as she is a gallery of great poses," Creative Director.

Bonang Matheba

"Bonang is easy to work with because she is so organised. She has a people ready to dress her with exactly what she wants and the look she wants. She is also on time and very professional. She is usually mostly on her phone though in between takes, but when the time comes to shine, she gives it 150 per cent," Producer.

Simphiwe Dana

"When I met Simphiwe Dana I was surprised at how chilled she is. She is a big star, but there were no diva tendencies. Her social media persona can sometimes sound antagonistic, but she is such a warm and easy person to work with," Journalist.

Sophie Ndaba

"Possibly the best person to work with. She does what needs to be done and with so much grace and a smile. Everyone who was at the shoot fell in love with her. She pays attention to people and speaks to everyone as equals. She is a real gem,"Producer.
