Inside the outrageous rich kid Christmas party with a life size polar bear and toddlers wearing Rolex watches

Imagine the most extravagant Christmas party you've ever been to – and then triple it.

Only then will you reach the levels of a plush festive bash that was held in London for rich kids and their parents.

One mumfluencer took her social media followers behind-the-scenes of the VIP bash, located at private member's club Annabel's. TikTok user @gemmaalster took her little girl Gigi, who is nicknamed "The Real Stay At Home Baby", along to the festive day – and the mother-daughter duo couldn't believe her eyes.

In a video posted to Gemma's profile, she told her followers that not only were the toddler attendees wearing designer brands – some even Rolex watches – but that the club had gone all out with surprises.

As she showcased her footage of the day, Gemma began: "Come with us to the boujiest Christmas party in London.

"On Sunday we went to Annabel's to meet Father Christmas and be jealous of three-year-olds in head to toe Loro Piana."

She then gave a glimpse inside to show how the club had been transformed into a "beautiful" winter wonderland grotto, complete with giant baubles, wreaths, and festive lights.

There were also various activities for the kids to take advantage of – from festive games to a face-painting station and sweets stalls to an expensive balloon stand.

She joked: "The whole club was decorated beautifully.

"I've never been in this room sober, so it was an eye-opening experience to notice what it actually looked like."

The mum then continued: "They pulled out all the stops for the kids – there were games and balloons, sweets, gingerbread cookies and, of course, face paint, which was Gigi's first stop.

"The Queen had her face painted like a unicorn.

"She sat the most still she's ever sat in her life, because why would you sit still for your mum  when you can sit perfectly still for a complete stranger?"

But there was more to come when a giant robotic polar bear entered the room.

Gemma revealed: "And then out of nowhere, a polar bear arrived! Yep, a polar bear.

"It obviously wasn't real but it took me five minutes to realise that because nothing surprises me in this place."

She then quipped: "I saw a five-year-old wearing a rolex!"

After the party had finished downstairs, guests were invited to dine in the equally extravagant upstairs restaurant where they were greeted by Santa.

Gemma said: "The real Father Christmas was waiting for us. Gigi's face was like, 'oh my God, is this really happening?!"

She then showed how Father Christmas mingled with guests in the room decorated with gold and green baubles before handing over a little gift, rounding off the "amazing" day.

And her followers also couldn't believe how incredible the party looked, either.

Zakes Bantwini describes sit down with Nandi Madida as his favourite interview of the year #FridayFeeling

Zakes Bantwini has described his sit-down with wife and media personality Nandi Madida as his favourite interview of the year, ahead of his album release.

"My favourite interview of the year, can't wait for this one to come out, had the pleasure of sitting down with my amazing wife Nandi Madida chatting about new album The Star is Reborn," said Bantwini. The Star is Reborn which comes out today is Bantwini's fourth studio album, following 2021's Ghetto King.

"He may not find putting dishes in the sink easy, but he's always making massive hits. Travelling around the globe, but for his kids never too busy," Nandi described Bantwini in the introduction of the Africa Now Radio on Apple Music.

Apple Music 1's Africa Now Radio is a show that sees Nandi present African music to the world through conversations with some of the biggest stars. Nandi joined the platform earlier this year, taking over from Luthando "LootLove" Shosha.

"I was at home when I got a text saying I got the job. I was so shocked but in a good way. My husband Zakes [Bantwini], on the other hand, said that he knew I was going to get the job because my demo was 'super good'" said Nandi after getting the nod as host.

Thembi Seete bares all in the testosterone charged Adulting Season 2 #FridayFeeling

Thembi Seete, former member of the kwaito group Boom Shaka, has made a name for herself as a versatile artist in the acting world.

From her early roles in "Hijack", "Yizo Yizo", and "Gazlam", she has now reached new heights as a judge on "Idols SA" and the second season of "Adulting".

In "Adulting", Seete takes on the role of Portia, a married woman who is struggling to find happiness in her relationship.

Seete explains that Portia is a family woman who desires the love and attention that every woman needs.

However, her husband fails to provide her with the emotional support she craves, leaving her feeling lonely and unfulfilled. As a result, Portia takes control of her own life and decides to make herself happy.

Seete reflects on her journey on "Idols SA" and expresses her gratitude for the opportunity.

She started as a guest judge and was eventually asked to join as a regular judge in seasons 18 and 19.

Woman reveals her chilly skincare routine which makes her look younger.... And it's free too #GirlTalkZA

We all want to age well, but often we just end up spending lots of our hard earned cash  in a desperate bid to stop time.

However, one 82 year-old has revealed her secret to looking decades younger and amazingly, it will cost you nothing.

Whilst most people tend to avoid technology as they get older, Vera DiLeo, 82, has bucked the trend and even become an influencer on Tiktok.

Better known online as @nanastillgotit, this 'young at heart' woman shares snippets of her daily life, handy hacks and designer items from her vintage shop.

Though she might not have a huge following just yet, the content creator regularly gets thousands of views with everybody commenting on the same thing: her flawless skin.

In fact, most people assume that she is decades younger than she is.

On of her recent videos, one user even commented:  and with one user even: "There's no way you're 80. You look 60 at the very oldest, what is your secret?!"

It would be easy to believe that Vera is spending thousands of dollars on skincare and tweakments, but the octogenarian insists it's purely down to how she washes her face.

For those who also want to look as ageless as her, the content creator has shared her simple routine so you can all follow along.

Taking to Tiktok, the grandmother revealed that she is a big fan of Clinque and uses many of the brand's bestsellers.

These include the All about Clean Cleanser, the Clarifying Lotion and the Exfoliating Scrub.

Vera is also no stranger to serums as she also uses a little bit of the Skinceuticals Ferulic CE drops paired with the SkinCeuticals Hydrating Gel.

Like many older women, her Olay eye cream is also another beauty essential with the influencer choosing one with added retinol – to improve the texture of her skin.

Despite this, the grandmother insists that washing her face with cold water is the key to her age defying skin.

In the caption, she even urged viewers to: "Always wash your face with cold water too!"

Though you might think this low cost beauty tip is an old wives tale, there is some science behind this hack.

According to skincare brand Kiehl's, there are even multiple benefits to washing your face with cold water.

As well as boosting your circulation, the beauty experts claim that cold water tightens the appearance of your skin which can help make you look more refreshed.

Foodie reveals her #Nandos butter chicken fakeaway

A foodie has revealed her Nando's fakeaway recipe and it looks "spot on", according to fans.

Mia, 23, often uses her social media account to share her top tips and tricks when it comes to making meals at home on a budget.

In one such video, she revealed how she made butterfly chicken in the style of the restaurant chain.

Taking some chicken breast out of the packaging, she started by cutting it up to turn it into a butterfly shape.

"You could always use chicken sizzler steaks if you're not a fan of cutting chicken," she shared as she got to work. "I don't really mind too much so…"

Placing all the chicken pieces into a glass bowl, she then poured Nando's medium peri peri sauce all over them.

She then added salt, pepper and Aldi-branded peri peri salt.

Mixing this all together, she placed it to one side to marinate while she prepared the straight cut chips.

"I then put some chips in the oven and added some peri peri seasoning on top," she explained. "Just give it a little shake and put it in the oven."

TikTok user @miasoper12 then moved on to prepare the garlic bread as she minced three garlic cloves into a bowl.

"I then added some butter, some mixed herbs, a little bit of olive oil as well and some garlic granules," she continued.

"I spreaded this all over the bread rolls and I put these in the oven for 10 minutes."

Once these two elements were dealt with, she started on the chicken by spraying olive oil onto a griddle pan.

"You could fry it or do it in the oven, but I feel like a griddle pan is the best," she said.

She then placed several slices of halloumi on a plate and put some halloumi seasoning over it from Aldi.

"And then I plated up, so we had some coleslaw with it and here's the garlic bread, so good," she continued.

"We had some chips and some corn on the cob as well and then here's the butterfly chicken – very impressed with this.

"Then I grilled the halloumi for a few minutes at the end."

People were quick to comment on the video as one person wrote: "Looks banging fair play," to which Mia replied: "Thank you," followed by a smiling face emoji.

Make-up pro reveals the 'Hotness Trifecta' which makes ladies look attractive in 3 easy steps #GirlTalkZA

A professional make-up whizz has revealed how to look 'significantly' more attractive in just three easy ways.

Getting a good night's rest, eating a balanced diet and exercising can all have a positive effect on your appearance – but sometimes we all need a little extra help with a bit of make-up.

Someone who knows about this is Jennifer Belle, a New York-based beauty expert who specialises in "television, film, fashion, print, and bridal make-up" and often shares her expertise on TikTok.

According to the guru, there is no need to spend hours upping your beauty game – looking put-together and instantly way more "attractive" is as easy as following something she calls the "hotness trifecta".

"Even if this is not your own personal style, give these tips a try when you need to just look hot," Belle said in her video.

Rockstar effect

One such trick, for instance, will give you the sexy "rock star effect" – and it can be achieved with your favourite eyeliner.

"Take an inky, black eyeliner and line your bottom waterline from corner to corner," the beauty pro instructed, using the Sephora Collection Eye Crayon.

"Now, just take you bronzer and smudge it out all the way underneath your lashes."

Sharing the mini hack, Belle noted that this will work wonders even for those with smaller eyes, giving the irresistable "sultry" look.

Crescent moon effect

Next time you're doing your make-up before dashing out for the day – or date – make sure to try out the "crescent moon effect".

Belle demonstrated: "You're going to take your bronzer, and shade in the shape of a crescent moon around your face, from your temple to your cheek.

"Now, take a highlighter and highlight the center of the crescent moon from your temple to your cheekbone."

The easy yet effective trick not only gave her skin a gorgeous and healthy sheen, but also a free facelift – a win-win.

The talented guru, who posts under the username @jenniferbellemakeup, achieved this by using the Rare Beauty Positive Light Liquid Luminizer Highlight in the shade Enlighten, and completed the makeover with a bronzer from her line in the shade Latte.

Heart effect

Last but certainly not least was the "heart effect", which is all about achieving the sexiest pout.

"You're just going to take your lip liner and draw the shape of a heart in the center of your lips.

"If you press your lips together, you can see exactly where that heart should be," Belle said.

"This creates a really pretty shape to your lips.

"And that's it, try these tips when you need to be extra." Chatting to Daily Mail, the whizz said: "I made the tutorial hoping to inspire people to try things that may be outside of their comfort zone.

"In particular, the "rockstar effect," so many of my clients are afraid to put anything on their bottom lid because they think it will close their eyes and make them look small.

"I got so many sweet comments and DMs from women who were afraid to try it, saying how much they loved how they looked when they did it."

Lionel Messi is the 2023 Times Athlete of the year

Argentina captain Lionel Messi has been named Time magazine's Athlete of the Year for 2023 after winning the Ballon d'Or for a record-extending eighth time and elevating the profile of the sport in the United States with his move to Inter Miami.

Messi played a key role in guiding Argentina to their first World Cup title in 36 years when they beat defending champions France in the final in December last year.

The 36-year-old had no shortage of offers when he left Paris St Germain earlier this year, choosing to sign for Major League Soccer's Inter Miami despite being linked with his former team Barcelona and a big-money move to Saudi side Al-Hilal.

"The truth is that fortunately, I had several options on the table that were interesting, and I had to analyse them and think, even weigh them up with my family, before making the final decision to come to Miami," Messi told Time.

Messi made an instant impact at Miami, scoring 10 goals in seven Leagues Cup appearances as he spurred them to victory in the tournament which features MLS teams as well as sides from Mexico.

The Argentine's arrival in the U.S. also made waves off the pitch, causing a massive spike in searches for match dates and tickets to see him in action, with fans also buying up his official pink Inter Miami shirt.

The price of tickets to Inter Miami games skyrocketed, while Apple TV, which has a 10-year partnership with the MLS, saw a significant increase in subscriptions, according to research firm Antenna.

Makeup artist gets rid of eye bags in seconds #GirlTalkZA

With the festive season in full swing, many of us are burning the candle at both ends and partying into the small hours.

If you have been over doing it and look like you could use a few extra hours sleep, one make up artist has found two 'incredible' products that banish under eye bags in seconds.

Though this sounds too good to be true, make up artist Alison Gay showed just how quickly she covered up her puffy dark circles in her viral video.

The beauty influencer is seriously speedy, even as she speaks to her 13,000 followers and uses just two products to cover her blemishes in under a minute.

In the blink and you'll miss it moment, the mature skin expert revealed that the key is to leave a small gap when applying your concealer.

While most of us are used to making the area under our eyes look as bright as possible, Alison explained that less is actually more when it comes to under eye make up.

Starting with a few dots of concealer under her water line, the skin expert showed fans how she blended it out with her fingers – moving it towards her temple.

However, her key tip was to avoid the 'swollen' area, adding: "You need to just go straight into the shadow with a couple of dots and then take it up again.

Continuing, she said: "You just need to be a bit more precise [and] try not to get into that middle part."

Finally, she added some powder to finish the look and blur those dreaded under eye bags.

Even Alison can't get over how good the concealer and powder are, writing in the caption: "I will never stop raving about these 2 incredible products."

Unsurprisingly, her amazing technique has gone viral with over 3450,000 people watching her video.

Skincare whizz reveals the four steps you need to take to reverse ageing #GirlTalkZA

A skincare whizz has revealed the four steps you need to take to reverse ageing.

Elle McNamara has shown off her transformation revealing how she banished wrinkles she once had without Botox or filler.

The 33-year-old from the UK shared her top tips on social media – and it's all about the skincare you use.

She said the first step was to make sure you clean your face properly in the evening to prevent pollution and makeup building up in the pores.

"Double cleanse in PM with an oil based cleanser and flannel (no wipes!)," she said.

Adding hydration to the skin was also key to stop dehydration lines and wrinkles looking even deeper.

Elle added: "Mist, mist and mist again.

"Fine textured hydrating mists stop those dehydration lines."

For those wanting to reverse wrinkles as well as acne she recommended adding a retinol into your routine – Elle recommended the CeraVe resurfacing retinol serum on sale for £15.

Instead of paying out for lots of hydrating products, the beauty whizz said to layer the same product twice to get the most out of it.

"Layer hydrating serums. Even if its the same one twice," she claimed.

Finally, the skin pro said you should always use an SPF, specifically ones formulated for your face.

"SPF daily as a preventative, I stopped buying the cheapest ones at the end of the aisle for face and body and now use ones formulated for skin on the face.

"PS if you have dry skin like me see it as another layer of moisture for your skin to keep bouncy," she revealed.

The clip has since gone viral on her TikTok account @bambidoesbeauty with over one million views and 45k likes.

A hair specialist has shared her easy and natural way to promote hair growth around your hairline.

Her simple tip can stop hair shedding for good and reverse your hair loss.

Trichologist Taylor Rose (@thehealthyhur) uses her professional background to help women regrow their hair.

In a TikTok video, she walked viewers through how one product can be used in different ways to help boost regrowth.

She held up a bottle of Undiluted Rosemary Essential Oil, $22.95 on, Amazon.

You can also soak the plant in water to absorb its nutritional properties.

"The easiest way to use rosemary for hair regrowth is to drop five drops of rosemary into your palm full of shampoo," she advised.

For optimal results, she said to do this about two to three times a week.

"You can also dilute rosemary with the carrier oil and apply it to your scalp for 30 minutes before showering," she added.

If you want to get even more benefits, she suggested making a homemade rosemary water spray and spraying it on your scalp twice a day.

The comment section was filled with questions and feedback.

In a TikTok video, she showed off her 64-year-old other mother's fit physique in a two-piece swimsuit while she wore athletic attire.

Her daughter first filmed them together side-by-side before flipping the camera to only show her attractive parent.

Vin's mom wore a hot pink string bikini as she posed for her audience.

The subtitle over it read: "64 & four children body."

It's hard to believe that she has four grown kids when she has abs that put people half her age to shame.

A fan commented: "She's slayingggg," while another wrote: "She looks early-50s not mid-60s no way."

"What does she do for fitness?" a TikTok user asked, and Vin simply replied: "Pilates."

In another video, Vin brought viewers into their home while the duo danced and showed off their curves.

She wore a white sports bra and sweat shorts while her mother wore a white sports bra and workout shorts.

"When your mom's 63 and has better abs than you," she captioned the video.

Individuals flooded the comments with praise about her physical appearance.

"63??? If you told me she was 30 I'd believe you. She's so youthful and beautiful," one chimed in.

Another added: "Okay but your mom really came and stole the whole show."

Vin mentioned in the video caption that her fitness fan parent was "#mumgoals."

IT'S hard to avoid being "influenced" when you watch TikTok.

Every second video seems to be someone trying something out and promoting it to buy through their TikTok Shop.

"Things that I've bought because of TiKTok and literally only used once," Jas captioned her slideshow.

First up, the Made by Mitchell Blursh cream blushers.

You're meant to be able to use it as a liquid lip too, but Jas doesn't agree with that.

"These b***ends?" she wrote over a picture of her Blursh.

"Who tf said these were good for lips? They look so good for three seconds then go crusty."

Next was a brown tracksuit set – featuring a cropped top and bottoms.

"It's cute and comfy but I sized up and it's still too tight for my liking." she admitted.

"Bottoms are too small."

Third on the list was a spray tan gun, as she questioned "where on earth am I going to use this?"

And a surprising addition to the rundown was Milk's Hydro Grip primer.

"This is g**h," Jas wrote.

"I swear it makes everything separate!"

Pink Honey's Contour Cake was next in the firing line, with Jas writing: "I love the normal face frosting but I just can't make this work.

"Looks muddy."

While she doesn't like the Sol de Janeiro 62 Perfume Mist because it "smells like suncream".

She concluded her list with the Gisou lip oil, which is "trash", and the HiSmile colour correcting teeth treatment, as she said once again that it's "trash" because it "doesn't work".

"I will blame everyone else on this app for my actions," she captioned her slideshow.

And people in the comments were quick to praise her for her honesty.

"I'm here for the de influencing," one wrote.

"THANK YOU, finally someone speaking true words," another added.

"THIS IS WHAT I NEED, I'm tired of everyone promoting tiktok things to buy but in reality they're bad THANK YOU," a third praised.

"At last somebody speaking the truth .. thank you," someone else agreed.

"I love how real you are," another wrote.

As someone else admitted: "Well my tiktok basket has had a clear out this morning!"

But others weighed in on Jas' assessment of some of the products, with one writing: "NOOO cus i literally HATE my blursh, it's so matte and hard to work with."

"The blursh is the biggest let down," another added.

While a third hit back: "Nooo blursh is sooo good !!

"I use it on my cheeks it blends out perfectly."

Her slamming of the Hydro Grip primer was also a point of contention.

"I thought I was the only one who couldn't get that primer to work so glad I only bought the small one," one wrote.

"Agree with the milk primer and it doesn't matter what skincare or foundation i use," another insisted.

Beauty guru reveals her 2-ingredient solution for radiant skin without expensive creams

A beauty guru has revealed how she banishes crow's feet and undereye circles without splurging on expensive eye creams.

She spoke candidly about her skincare regimen after a 25-year-old asked her for advice on getting rid of their unwanted fine lines.

Nike Ojekunle (@nikeoje) boasts over 467,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares beauty and fashion tips.

She took to the social media platform to explain how she looks after the skin around her eyes to maintain a youthful appearance.

She made the video in response to a follower claiming they are getting crow's feet in their mid-20s.

Nike said: "So you're starting to get crow's feet or you have dark under-eye circles, but you don't want to purchase expensive eye cream?

"I have the solution for you. Let's do it!

"Take your retinol (dime size) and pour it out on your hand. Then take your moisturizer (mine is from Symbiome) and mix it together.

"Retinol is very strong so you don't want to put it directly under your eyes."

Symbiome The One cream costs $125 from Look Fantastic.

The anti-aging cream contains a mix of antioxidants that claim to "help protect against premature aging and oxidative damage caused by environmental pollutants or stressors."

Nike didn't reveal which brand of retinol she combined the cream with before applying the products under her eyes.

However, she reassured a commenter that the retinol available from skincare brand The Ordinary, which costs $6.85, is just as effective.

Nike said: "I simply tap with my ring finger under my eyes and that's it! It gets rid of the wrinkles and your dark circles."

The video racked up thousands of views and people took to the comment section thanking her for sharing her beauty tip.

Lucy started her beauty business in her living room and she now rakes in millions. She says anyone can do it! #GirlTalkZA

A mother-of-three who started a multimillion-pound beauty company from her living room and made £20,000 within six minutes of launching DIY salon-quality eyelash extensions.

With just £200 in the bank when she started, she said her mission is helping women feel "beautiful and confident" in their own homes.

Lucy Pearce, 32, the CEO of Amor Lashes – who lives in Bristol, left school aged 16 and subsequently started working for her father, managing his office and business accounts.

She launched some smaller businesses of her own as she loves being creative, although they were not profitable, personalising clothing and making picture frames and notebooks, all while raising her children – Billy, 11, Tommy, nine, and Elsie, five – who were "toddling around (her) feet" at the time.

Lucy had a business partnership, which focused on selling wholesale clothing and had an accessory line of eyelash extensions, but she then decided to leave and go solo in 2020.

She wanted to purely concentrate on selling eyelash extensions, but since she had "no money", she had to borrow £1,000 from her partner to launch Amor Lashes.

She started off buying and selling strip eyelash extensions in her living room in 2020, making her own stickers, labels, and tissue paper, and was fearful her new business venture would be "a flop" – but it "blew up" one day in 2021 when she expanded her products to include DIY eyelash extensions.

"I did some videos on myself at home and my cousin did a couple, putting them on. They went viral and we had 10 million views on videos online," she told PA Real Life.

"I thought I'd do this launch at 8pm and maybe a few people will buy them, and I literally sat there in tears because within six minutes we'd made £20,000.

"I only had £200 in the bank that day."

Since then, the business has gone from strength-to-strength, introducing eyelash extensions vending machines, having products stocked in Sephora UK, and turning over around £3.5 million.
I literally just kept reinvesting and reinvesting every time we had a sell-out. Every penny would go back into more stock until we got to a stable level."
Lucy PearceCEO of Amor Lashes

Although Lucy has struggled with burnout and anxiety, and balancing work with being a mother, she wants to encourage others to "fight through the challenges and never give up".

"Being a mum at home, you can feel trapped, that you don't have your own identity, you don't have time for yourself, and I think that's the key for me – to make women feel beautiful in their own way and confident in their own home. They don't have to spend money to go into a salon," Lucy explained.

"I feel like why this business has worked so well is because the team and I, we are the customers, we are the girls that know how other women out there want to look and feel.

"That's why we're so passionate about it because we're a group of girls doing it for groups of girls just like us."

Lucy said she thought she would work for her father "forever" after leaving school, describing him as her "inspiration".

Watching his determination to succeed and improve his businesses, she knew she wanted to launch her own company one day, but she never thought this dream would become a reality.

borrowing £1,000 from her partner.

In order to keep costs down, she created her own logo and made stickers and tissue paper at home, and then started going about forming a community on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.

Lucy wanted to create "an experience" for her customers, not just "a product in a box", but given costs for stock and packaging were so high, she nearly gave up on her dream.

"I didn't even have enough money to buy big stock in, let alone all the other bits that I wanted," she said.

"The market started to get really saturated, eyelashes were being sold everywhere, so I did nearly give up many times."

Lucy reinvested every penny she made from selling strip lashes back into purchasing new stock, but she soon discovered DIY eyelash extensions were becoming popular in the US.

She wanted to bring this to the UK, and after ordering stock in, she and her cousin posted some tutorials online in 2021, which went "viral" with 10 million views.

With just £200 in her bank account and £500 worth of stock, she then launched the DIY lash products online and made £20,000 within six minutes – which she said was "so surreal".

"I literally just kept reinvesting and reinvesting every time we had a sell-out. Every penny would go back into more stock until we got to a stable level," she said.

"That's when it just took over the house.

"I had no living room for about six months, we literally would have to sit in the kitchen or in our rooms at night because it was full of lash products."

She added: "My life had just gone from being a mum and doing little bits in my little office and working for my dad, to suddenly my life was out of control."

Lucy's father provided a storage container to house stock in January 2022, but this soon became full to the brim, and she therefore purchased a unit in Bristol in September 2022.

She now has a second unit, which is used as a warehouse.

Lucy loves being busy and said the business's success has been "amazing", but she has struggled with burnout and anxiety – and it has only "hit" her recently.

"I'm in here every single day, I haven't been abroad for 10 years, I hardly have holidays – I might have a weekend with my kids – but this is literally my life," Lucy said.

"Initially, I couldn't find time for my friends and family, I could hardly text my friends back because I was just so consumed with business.

"It's been amazing, everything that's happened, but it does take its toll, and I have had to take that step to say, 'My children will only be young once'."

Amor Lashes turned over £1 million within one year of launching the DIY lash products and is now making around £3.5 million, which Lucy said is "crazy".

She even arrived at work recently to discover they had made more than 600 sales before lunchtime.

While it has been challenging, Lucy wants to keep learning and progressing as she wants to be "the best in the DIY lash industry", and she hopes to break into the retail sector.

Most importantly, however, she hopes she can continue making her customers feel confident in their own skin.

Khayelitsha activists rev up anti-GBV battle as we draw closer to "16 days of activism against GBV" #UthuleleniAnti-GBVF

Activists against gender-based violence organized a motorcade in Khayelitsha on Thursday to bring attention to the issue in the lead-up to the festive season.

The motorcade started at Harare Police Station and made a stop at Khayelitsha Mall where they engaged with community members, expressing concerns about the increase in reported rape cases in the last quarter.

The #UthuleleniAnti-GBVF drive was hosted by support organization Ilitha Labantu, in collaboration with Harare SAPS, Emthonjeni Counselling and Training, Community Policing Forum, and Equal Education.

Siya Monakali, a spokesperson for the campaign, stated that the motorcade was organized in response to the rise in violence against women and children in the Harare community.

Daphney Arosi from Equal Education explained their involvement, emphasizing the need to raise awareness about the dangers children face during the December holidays.

Arosi highlighted that incidents of rape tend to increase during this period, with young children being particularly vulnerable as they often ask for treats like sweets, presenting an opportunity for predators to exploit them.

The decision to visit the mall was made because of its high foot traffic, allowing the activists to reach a larger audience and raise awareness about the prevalence of gender-based violence in Khayelitsha.

Arosi acknowledged that it is unclear whether rape and sexual offenses are at an all-time high due to the growing number of informal settlements and overpopulation. However, she noted that there is a noticeable spike during the holidays when children are at home and many adults are also present.

Arosi revealed that they have encountered numerous young victims of sexual assault, with many of them confiding in their teachers, who sometimes blame the children for the abuse.
