Amusing things to StayAtHome during #lockdown. #StayAtHome #coronavirus

There are a number of novel ways to keep yourself occupied.

Things to do in quarantine:

*Hug your fridge; for the forseeable future it's the best friend you have.

*Sing in the loo; it beats screaming in the traffic.

*Shower three times a day with the taps closed; it gives the illusion of deja vu, as well as saves water.

*watch CNN with one eye closed; it will balance out the skewed reporting.

*Look after that corner potplant; it may constitute your next green salad.

*Howl regularly at any sighting of the moon; your neighbours will keep their distance.

*Watch all the sports reruns; you'll be amazed at your ESP ability to predict the outcome.

Watch CNN with the sound off; try picking out the Donald Trump supporter.

*Watch Larry King live; if he can manage sitting balanced yoga still, so can you.

*Know your family appreciates your sacrifice in solitary, they're probably out spending your money.

No country remains the same after a pandemic strikes #coronavirus #coronavirusinsa #Covid_19

Way back in 2015, Bill Gates, the American business magnate, software
developer and philanthropist, warned about a possible pandemic that could
engulf the world, and he called for various measures to be put in place to
counteract the spread of an epidemic that could cost the world $3 trillion
(about R51 trillion), among other things.

But of course the politicians never listened.

History has demonstrated that various pandemics (Black Death, Spanish Flu,
HIV /Aids and cholera), with the first recorded in 430 BC, have wreaked
major economic, political and social havoc in people's lives.

No country remains the same once a pandemic sets in.

Covid-19 will now wreak the same havoc, perhaps much quicker than any of
those before.

As we are asked to self-isolate, etc. we need to reflect on who we are and
what our purpose is on Earth, and examine our abusive relationship with
nature.

And we must think of ways to amend this behaviour, and also our attitude to
all other humans, animals and plants and all other living things.

It's time to take #coronavirus seriously by practicing what you learn #CoronavirusInSa #Covid_19 #MondayMotivation

Coronavirus is the most serious threat to public health in generations.

The death toll is rising at a horrifying rate, while infections continue to grow. Its severity cannot be underestimated. The reports that are emerging from hospitals across the country are alarming.

And yet the message still seems to be failing to get through to many people.

Crowds flocked outside over the weekend.

Beaches, parks and beauty spots were packed across the nation despite official advice on social distancing.

It made for deeply troubling scenes.

They simply cannot be repeated. People need to realise the consequences their actions can have – and fast.

Everyone has a role to play in the battle against Covid-19.

We must all do our bit and act responsibly.

There is no room for selfishness or complacency.

Microscopic enemy is wreaking havoc #coronavirus #Covid19

The world is under siege, not by a superpower bristling with nuclear armaments, but by a microscopic enemy that is spreading fear, panic and death across the globe. It knows no borders, race or colour, and attacks anyone, from the most powerful to the ordinary person in the street. Humanity is feeling threatened and helpless.

Entire nations are in lockdown; shopping malls are empty, turning bustling cities like Venice and Rome into ghost towns; world economies are reeling and stock markets have plummeted, wiping out trillions in investments; the oil price has plunged to pre-2016 levels; factories have ground to a halt, shops , businesses, schools and universities have closed; airlines are in a tailspin with thousands of flights cancelled; and trade and tourism are suffering the worst, with bars, restaurants and hotels empty.

Sport, too, has been badly disrupted. Matches have been postponed or played behind closed doors to empty stadia. The 2020 Tokyo Olympics is at risk and the first race of the F1 2020 calendar in Melbourne has been cancelled.

Social media is abuzz with all sorts of theories, fake news and rumours, from the ridiculous to the bizarre.

But how could such a tiny virus wreak such havoc across the globe?

As powerful as humans are, we seem so vulnerable.

All the armies in the world cannot overpower such a small enemy.

Young female claws her way into challenging #hair industry. #GirlTalkZA #Lockfro

Just how good is your hair? Well, that question can best be answered
in stack full of responses. But one thing that's for sure is that hair
is big business nowadays.

South Africa's hair and beauty industry trades in the millions zone.
That's how lucrative it is.

A young female entrepreneur has joined in the chase for hair supremacy
with her stylish Lockfro brand.

Meet Gugu Baloyi. Baloyi has always seen hair as a degree of identity,
fascinated by the textures, curl patterns and versatility of afro
textured hair.

In simple terms, her love for hair irrepressible.

She began growing dreadlocks in school and soon learnt about the
misconceptions people have about them. Each lesson learnt led to
something unique.

"I realised, after extensive research, that the African child needs
more education content on the science of African hair and the products
we use," she said in an interview with the Daily Dispatch.

Booooooom that is how Lockfro came into existence. Baloyi hopes
Lockfro will help future clients as they embark on their "healthy hair
journey".

One of Lockfro's star attraction which distinguishes itself from the
rest is that its products do not clog frog hair follicles. Impressive.

Baloyi also has plans to launch a new product, the Bentonite Clair Hair Mask.

We can't wait Gugu, bring it on!

Ghosting – the trending social media phenomenon that’s getting people worried

One minute they are there, the next minute they are gone without a
trace! Easy come, easy go and that has become artistry on many social
media platforms.

We are living in an era that is built on the backbone of social media
dominance. These platforms enable us to seek opportunities,
communicate and basically meet new people.

While meeting new people can be a fun exercise, the practice of a chat
mate suddenly disappearing can be dispiriting. And it's got a name for
it. It's called ghosting!

Ghosting can generally be described as the act of ending a personal
relationship by suddenly withdrawing from all communication, without
explanation. Imagine feeling cosy in an 'online relationship' and then
suddenly booooooooom...... that person pulls a quick one on you by
halting all communication. It sucks, right?

According to the Elite Dating website, as much as 78% of millenials
have been ghosted at least once and the phenomena is more dominant in
the digital world.

We frame our understanding of ghosting within the context of behaviour
on social media, where people constantly block and delete each other.

Social worker, Wisani Khosa, believes that ghosting equates to
exclusion, isolation, ostracism and being ignored.

"Ghosting definitely leads to misinterpretation, because you are
simply not getting a response: you are cut off. This, in most cases,
is more difficult to deal with than a usual breakup. Where kids are
involved, you can come up with a fictitious story or reasons.

"With online dating, ghosting is bound to proliferate. The advent of
dating Apps like Tinder and Bumble set the scene for online ghosting.
Its going to be a defining feature of modern dating. But the fact that
we are talking about it helps, because people are made aware of it. It
psychologically prepares one somehow," said Khosa.

So have you ever been ghosted or have you ghosted someone? Stats don't
lie. Tell us about the experience. Don't worry, we wont ghost you.

Gert-Johan Coetzee steps into the fragrance game

What do you call a fashion icon who matches his well acclaimed designs with a signature fragrance brand?

Stylish fashion designer, Johan-Gert Coetzee, has introduced his signature fragrance - Double Platinum.

The fragrance comes at a time when Coetzee is celebrating 10 years in the industry.

Double Platinum is a symphony of class and a delicate combination of roses. It represents feminine fragility, paired with the smoke of masculinity.

Coetzee said coming up with the fragrance was in line with his passion of making people feel beautiful.

On the fashion front, his designs have been worn by A class celebs such as Oprah Winfrey, Bonang Matheba and Zozibini Tunzi.

Shhh that's just the whim of what to expect from that Double Platinum bottle.
