Minnie Dlamini steals the show at Paris Fashion Week

Every year designers from all over the world get to showcase their collections in one of the four big shows – in New York, London, Milan and Paris.

On-air personality, actress and model Minenhle "Minnie" Dlamini and designer Jessica Molebatsi were part of Paris Fashion Week.

Dlamini was Molebatsi's showstopper, dressed in JessicaJane's striking French-Xhosa Range. She dazzled in a cream garment with a head wrap, while other models who also walked for Molebatsi wore different outfits.

When The Star spoke to Dlamini before the prestigious show, she was excited, as someone who loves fashion.

"I think any girl who loves the art of fashion would love to attend an international fashion week. To get to walk in a show and be the showstopper for JessicaJane's Noluthando collection at Paris Fashion Week is a dream."

Dlamini emphasised the importance of showcasing South Africa's culture, which the designs depict well.

"This collection represents us culturally by reminding us where we come from and using that as a tool for future and global success," she said.

Dlamini said Jessica was a dear friend whose designs she had loved before they met.

"When we met, I really wanted to help build her brand as much as she was giving me a new direction is some of my red carpet looks. To see her grow to showcase at Paris Fashion week is inspiring and I could not be more excited for the world to see what she is made of," she said.

The designer's aim was to create a range that would mean something for all South Africans. Dlamini said the range represented cultural cohesiveness, as it embraced cultural and racial differences.
