Last chance to win some fine wine #Port2Port port2port.wine/competition

Port2Port.co.za, online e-commerce merchant that is changing the face of wine retailing in South Africa, together with fine wine importer Reciprocal Wine, have launched the festive season with a competition which includes "the most coveted Champagne in the world".

This season, founders of both Port2Port, Nicolò Stortiglione Pudel and Vincent Bührer, together with Tarryn Vincent for Reciprocal, decided to offer wine lovers some of the most desirable wines in the world, presented as an assortment of special cases online, some of which include the highly coveted Prestige Cuvée from Louis Roederer, the Louis Roederer Cristal 2009 – while also offering consumers the opportunity to win this Prestige Cuveé - valued at R3 295- online.

"Cristal is not just the Champagne of choice of rappers and socialites. It was first served on June 7th 1867 at the Three Emperor's Dinner at the pleasure of King William I of Prussia. Of all the Champagne brands, Louis Roederer Cristal elicits a reverence from collectors and fine wine lovers that is unparalleled. Its exclusivity, coupled with its association with royalty, and of course unrivalled taste, has made it one of the most desired, prestigious luxury items in the world, which makes it an extremely appropriate product to buy – or if you are very generous, to gift – this festive season. We wanted to provide consumers accessibility to this coveted Champagne, and for that we partnered with the sole importers of Louis Roederer in South Africa, Reciprocal Wines. We will be offering Louis Roederer Cristal in our specially curated wine cases this season, as well as a prize in an online competition," says Pudel.

Louis Roederer Cristal was originally crafted for Tsar Alexander II of Russia, and unlike other Champagne bottles, it is a clear bottle and has a level bottom – a design which still dates from the 1800s when the Tsar required a transparent bottle to detect poisonous residue, in case of an assassination attempt – and to this day it is made from Grand Cru vineyards, and only in exceptional years. Cristal is aged for 6 years, and left for a further 8 months after dégorgement.

The Louis Roederer special cases, as well as the competition gift pack, are packaged with Riedel glasses, the appropriate stemware to enhance the luxurious experience, says Tarryn Vincent from Reciprocal.  "The special select cases that we've curated with Port2Port, are for truly celebratory moments, and for those who enjoy living in the 'now'. It is a luxury item, and therefore appropriate for the festive season."

These specially curated cases will be made available exclusively via the Port2Port website, and will be sold at competitive, special festive prices, and will only be available for a limited time, or whilst stock lasts.
