SA teacher in line to win bumper R14 million prize

A South African teacher who this year retired from the traditional classroom to digital online teaching has earned international recognition.

Phuti Ragophala‚ who taught in Polokwane, was yesterday included in the shortlist for the Varkey Foundation Global Teacher Prize for 2017. The $1-million (about R14-million) award is the largest of its kind.

"I am still Phuti Ragophala. ... I am available to share‚ assist‚ inspire ...," Ragophala shared on Facebook.
