Lip Sync Battle Africa surely made for great viewing in 2016 #LipSyncBattleAfrica

The cock is about to roost to signal the end of yet another long way. 2016 definitely had its ups and downs and the entertainment industry had its fair share of the cake.

Plugs were pulled on certain shows, stars crossed floors to join other productions, some entertainers sadly passed away.

It was also not so gleam as some new productions broke the flooded entertainment market with a big bang. One such is Lip Sync Battle Africa.

South Africa became the eighth county to adapt the popular hit show.

Media personality Pearl Thusi (Now riding on the crest of yet another huge wave in the United States) and Nigerian Afrobeat singer D'Banj lit up the stage every week as both local and African celebrities battled for honours on the show.

The local series had all the bells and whistles of the international one: dancers, wigs, costumes, props and tons of swag. Of course the sexy Boity Thulo was the first champ.

One can only hope the fun continues in 2017.
