Vodacom Will Refund All Daily Airtime Used Until July

Mobile operator Vodacom has launched a new promotion with an interesting benefit: the operator will refund the full value of your daily airtime use every morning from now until the end of July under its new Use & Get program.

“Designed to attract new customers and reward loyalty, Use & Get gives additional airtime tomorrow equivalent to the airtime used today. For example, if a customer uses R20 worth of airtime today they will get R20 airtime back for free tomorrow. The bonus airtime is valid until midnight of the same day,” the operator said in a media statement.

But the extra cash on your phone can’t just be used for talking, as it will include access to the internet as well.

“Bonus airtime can be used to access the internet, send SMSes or to make on-net calls. There is no limit on how much bonus airtime a customer can receive.”

All Vodacom prepaid subscribers get access the promotion, and all that you have to do it opt-in to Use & Get by dialling 111#, select promotions from the menu and follow the prompts (Alternatively dial 111*790# for the direct string).

“Once the opt-in is complete any Vodacom airtime used will be given back early the following morning and is valid until midnight that evening. Customers will receive an SMS in the morning notifying them of the amount of bonus airtime they have to spend that day,” Vodacom explained.

There are some obvious conditions. While out of bundle spend on SMS and data will be refunded, in bundle texts or MBs won’t. And bonus airtime can’t be spent to buy bundles, nor will buying a bundle with regular airtime be refunded. Use & Get is also only available to prepay customers – making it even harder to justify contract prices than ever.

Still, it’s not a bad deal all-in-all.
