Although it was a Thursday morning, there was no shortage of patrons at the opening of The Mall of Africa in Midrand, Johannesburg. You would seriously think the failing economy would deter anyone from spending any more money than they should, but then again payday has just showed face.
Since 5am, traffic along the N1 was disrupted due to the 6am opening times, which were advertised along with opening specials from each of the stores. Twitter revealed the long queues of both cars and people, lined up waiting for a piece of the pie:
