Top South Africans nominated for African Women Awards

African Women Award is an award which aims at recognizing and
honouring and validating/ celebrating women who are successful in
Africa, women who are promoting peace in conflict-inflicted areas and
contributing to the increased resources and productivity in their
nations.

Some of the most powerful women in South African entertainment‚
including Terry Pheto‚ Nomzamo Mbatha‚ Pearl Thusi and Connie Ferguson
have been nominated for this year's African Women Awards‚ to be held
later this year.

South Africans women lead the pack of nominations for this year's
awards‚ with no less than 13 nominations in total.

The awards are broken into three major categories with South African
entertainers and businesswomen dominating the categories.

In the entertainment and arts category‚ South Africa is represented by
five South Africans: Pearl Thusi (Media Excellence Award)‚ Terry Pheto
(Star Power Award)‚ Nomzamo Mbatha (Promising Personality Award)‚
Connie Ferguson and Basetsana Kumalo (Living Legend Award)

African Women Association was founded by Carol Nyazika and Lisa
Chiriseri. The two young women are determined to change the perception
of their continent and expose African women to what is possible within
their own environment and community.
