Paul Pogba to resume training at Juventus

Paul Pogba will return to Italy on Monday to train with Juventus, manager Massimiliano Allegri has revealed.

The French midfielder has been holidaying in the United States for the past few weeks and is now set to resume training in his bid to gain full fitness for the upcoming campaign.

Pogba is widely expected to join Manchester United by next week in a record-breaking £100 million transfer deal, that will see him become the most expensive footballer of all time.

The dynamic midfielder’s agent Mino Raiola is currently negotiating with both the European giants to finalize the blockbuster move but Italian champions’ boss Massimiliano Allegri has claimed that the 23-year-old is a Juventus player for now.

Allegri said: “Mourinho rightly says he’s not talking about Pogba because he’s a Juventus player.

“I’ve summoned Pogba together with [Patrice] Evra [to report for preseason duty] tomorrow night, so that means he has training here in Vinovo on Monday.

“It makes no sense at the moment talking about potential replacements for Pogba because, right now, Pogba is a Juventus player.”

Pogba left Man Utd for free in 2012 after growing frustrated over lack of first team action but has since established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world.

Ahead of Man Utd’s Community Shield match against Leicester City on Sunday, Jose Mourinho confirmed on Friday that the club is closing in on a ‘very good midfield player’ and the Old Trafford outfit are hopeful that Pogba’s transfer can be sealed before the opening day of the new Premier League campaign.
