Does height matter in a relationship? Baby shower pictures raise that question #GirlTalkZA

Does the height of a partner matter in a relationship? Are men always supposed to be taller than their partners?

Well, that is the question that drove Mzansi into overdrive after a couple was seen in widely circulating pictures celebrating their baby shower.

The lady, who is taller than her partner, can be seen seated on his lap and the two seemed to have been enjoying the moment.

It raised a lot of questions about the power of height in a relationship.

"Naturally I think a guy is supposed to be taller than his woman. It looks very odd and embarrassing for a lady to be taller than her partner," said Nosipho Sakala.

Well, many women do feel embarrassed to be seen with a shorter partner in public.

The reason is because society is very judgemental when it comes to dating.

But isn't that supposed to be a decision two people make?

"While love is between two people, it just doesn't end there. There will always be a third force. So it's not surprising that people now date their partners according to what people will say," said Tatiana.

The 'abantu bazothini' syndrome has for long been a huge part of South African lives.

Would you date a shorter man or a taller lady?

He plays a fearless character on popular e.tv Soapie Rhythm City and just like his on screen character, he has come out boldly to dispel any rumours that he is quitting the Soapie.

Mduduzi Mabaso, who plays Rhythm City's longest-running character Suffocate has taken on other roles throughout his career.

He also has no plans of leaving the show soon.

Mabaso has been with Rhythm City for over 13 years and he has won several fans during his time.

There have been widespread rumours of his departure from the show.

The streetwise character has narrowly escaped death on numerous occasions, but has always managed to come out triumphant in the end.

Whilst on Rhythm City, Mduduzi has also taken supporting roles on other weeknight soapies, such as eTV's Imbewu, causing fans to speculate that he attempted to explore other opportunities away from the show.

Punter buys a house after winning R250 000 from a R5 bet #MondayMotivation #Level1Lockdown

What would you buy with just R5? not much I reckon. 2 eggs or airtime or stalk sweets or a loaf of bread from Shoprite.

Well, a mine worker from Burgersfort chose to invest it in Lucky Numbers and he got the shock of his life after picking up a massive R250 000 in winnings. Now that is what you call sheer luck.

"He received this win after spending just R5 on the Lucky Numbers – UK 49's Afternoon draw using his online betting account. The 34-year-old explained that his selections (49,1,3,18,19) were chosen randomly, and he is extremely thrilled that he is now able to complete building his family home," said Hollywood Bets in their official press release.

This is not the first time that the punter has been betting with Hollywoodbets as he had been trying his luck for years but to no avail. The Gods suddenly smiled on him and he now has a house.

He stated that the the simplicity of the Hollywoodbets mobisite is what kept him going and spurred him never to give up!

Even though he has collected small winnings from the past, this is his biggest winning.

And he won't stop now that he has discovered that lucky numbers do pay Afterall.

Zindzi Mandela remembered for her #poetry in the Afro Poetry Times October issue #MondayMotivation

Despite coming from a family of revered politicians and being the daughter of the world's most prolific statesman, the late Nelson Mandela, Zindzi was an amazing human being whose life will continue to be celebrated for centuries to come.

She impacted several lives and influenced society through her marvelous poetry.

Poetry is well known for its uniqueness and ability to relay a message no other art form can.

The Afro Poetry Times October edition is celebrating Zindzi and her amazing poetry.

The Afro Poetry Times is a monthly magazine that celebrates and promotes  African poetry and the literary arts.

A look into Zindzi's poetry shows how her writing documents the struggle for human dignity fromthe perspective of a young black girl.

Zindzi's poetry anthology Black As I Am opens with A Tree Was Chopped Down , which pays tribute to her father.

It also explores the effects of growing up in a family whose structure had been bulldozed by the apartheid regime.

The restoration of the black family structure, heteronormative at the time, was an important aspect of the liberation movement. South Africa's economy was built and continues to exploit parents living away from their homes for economic reasons.

Under apartheid, influx control worsened the conditions of families because of restrictions on living together in urban centres.

This issue also features several deep thought poetry, interviews and stories about poets that matter.

Man is crazy about his mum's beauty. Attempts to bed her more than once #GirlTalkZA #MondayMotivation

Is it lust, is it poverty or it's just plain mad?

Africa's ethics are fast going to the dogs and morality has reached its lowest point.

A Zimbabwean man was arraigned before the Mutate Civil Courts last week on charges of attempted rape.

The 32 year old man is being accused of attempting to rape his 51 year old mother on more than one occasion.

He is believed to be crazily in love with the beauty of the woman who have birth to him.

The case was heard when Future Matya bared her disappointment when she was seeking a protection order against Severino Mhosva, her biological son.

She also asked the magistrate to evict him from her house as he had proved too difficult to live with. He is being accused of stealing from her.

The accused chose not to attend the court case but magistrate, Ms Notebulgar Muchineripi heard the case in his absence.

His mother, who carried him in her womb for nine months, said he had attempted to be intimate with her on countless occasions.

"I have never heard of a son who lusts after his own mother. He knocks on my bedroom door all night, begging me to let him in. I cannot take it anymore and want him out of my house.

"I no longer have peace in my own house. I bought a residential stand and toiled to build the house after his father's death, now he wants to evict me from my house," said the elderly woman who believes that Mhosva is harassing her to force her out of her house.

The son was once arraigned before the same court on charges of attempted murder. This after he stabbed his mother with a knife for denying him sex.

Ms Muchineripi granted the protection order in Matya's favour.

But this all raises the questions of morality. How can a son lust after his biological mother to such an extent? Is it mental illness or stupidity or there is a traditional hoodoo that's haunting the boy? Because this just is not normal.

#FridayFeeling: The most weird shoes you can find in South Africa

South Africa is considered as the fashion capital of the world. Fashionista's and stylists often rock up on the red carpet wearing the best and most extravagant outfits money can buy.

Women just love their shoes in these parts of the world. From those shoes we don't know by name to Armadillo shoes, to Julian Hake's Mojito, Mzansi has played host to all types of shoes.

There are shoes that fit all styles and takes. From spikes to dangerously high heels that keep you wondering how some people walk in them.

Shoe collectors can attest that designers have always experimented with out-there new ideas, some of which (like giant flatforms) have broken through to the mainstream trend-sphere, while some have really just broken our ankles.

The scene is constantly set alight with Chinese foot-binding to curling great Medieval winkle pickers, ancient cultures loved an extreme shoe shape, often completely disabling their feet for the love of fashion.

Christian Louboutin remains one of the most sought after shoes in the country. If you have a pair of these in your closet then you are good to go.

But weird footwear does not always translate to unwearable footwear. Some of the most beautiful creations have come from out-there ideas.

So which are some of the weird shoes you have ever worn and how much did you pay for them?
