Well, that is the question that drove Mzansi into overdrive after a couple was seen in widely circulating pictures celebrating their baby shower.
The lady, who is taller than her partner, can be seen seated on his lap and the two seemed to have been enjoying the moment.
It raised a lot of questions about the power of height in a relationship.
"Naturally I think a guy is supposed to be taller than his woman. It looks very odd and embarrassing for a lady to be taller than her partner," said Nosipho Sakala.
Well, many women do feel embarrassed to be seen with a shorter partner in public.
The reason is because society is very judgemental when it comes to dating.
But isn't that supposed to be a decision two people make?
"While love is between two people, it just doesn't end there. There will always be a third force. So it's not surprising that people now date their partners according to what people will say," said Tatiana.
