Why eating cheese is good for your health
Although we all know that cheese is delicious, there are some great
health benefits to (moderately) enjoying a creamy Camembert or a
stinky Stilton. Before you wrap up the weekend, here are five
excellent reasons to eat more of the yellow stuff.
1. It's a great source of protein
Thinking of going vegetarian? Cheese is a valuable source of protein
for those looking to change to a meat-free diet, helping you to build
muscle including those in your heart and your stomach.
2. It could lower your dental bill
According to several studies, cheese could work to protect your teeth
from cavities. We all know that cheese is a great source of calcium,
but a study from showed that bacteria from the Lactobacillus rhamnosus
strain, a bacteria found in cheese, can lower the count of
cavity-causing yeast in the mouth. An study also found that cheese
with no sugar added can increase the calcium and phosphate
concentration in dental plaque, which reduces the likelihood of
cavities.
3. It makes you happy
Researchers from the recently revealed that cheese triggers the same
part of the brain as addictive drugs. The study found that cheese is
particularly moreish because it contains casein. The chemical, which
is found in all dairy products, can trigger the brain's opioid
receptors, producing a feeling of euphoria linked to those of hard
drug addiction.
4. It can lower risk of heart disease
Danish scientists analyzed data from fifteen healthy young men who ate
three diets for two weeks. They found that when people gorged on dairy
products but especially cheese their microflora seemed to change. In
their feces, researchers saw some metabolites that they know are
related to the metabolism of the microflora: short-chain fatty acids
like butyrate and propionate both appeared at increased concentrations
of dairy.
They also had lower levels than the control group of TMAO, a
metabolite produced when the body metabolizes choline, which is found
in many animal-derived foods, especially red meat
5. Cheese is full of good bacteria
Researchers from the have found new evidence to vouch for cheese's
health benefits. It turns out that cottage cheeses and soft fermented
cheeses like Gouda, some cheddars, and parmesan are all often packed
with probiotics, similar to Greek yogurt. These cheeses can balance
out your gut flora – which research has shown is essential to
maintaining good digestive health, weight, our immune system and
possibly even mental health.

Its #Spring and fuel prices are going down in #Mzansi
It's spring time and don't we all loving going out to enjoy the
weather. Whether its a braai with the boys or shopping with the girls,
its going to be a whole lot cheaper because the Department of Energy
has confirmed that fuel prices in South Africa will be adjusted on
September 7, when the price of petrol is expected to drop by 18 cents
per litre.
The price of diesel will drop by 49 cents per litre, while the price
of illuminating paraffin will drop by 47 cents per litre. These aren't
the prices that had been expected midway through August, but there
have been several factors that have contributed significantly to the
subsequent adjustment.
"A key factor that contributed to the increase in the prices of crude
oil was the news that the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting
Countries (OPEC) and other key exporters are likely to revive talks on
freezing output levels when meeting in Algeria in September 2016,"
read a statement from the Department of Energy this week.
So there you have it. Get your car keys out and get ready to burn some
serious fuel this spring. Remember not to drink and drive neh.

#Bulls vs #Lions, #WP vs #Sharks headline Currie Cup weekend fixtures
Without any international rugby scheduled for this weekend, all eyes
will be on 'hard to ignore' Currie Cup fixtures this weekend headlined
by the Lions trip to Pretoria and the ever appetizing Western Province
vs Sharks clash.
In Pretoria on Friday night, the Bulls, fresh from their forgettable
loss to the Sharks last week, welcome a Lions outfit that has had its
fair share of mixed fortunes in the competition.
Rohan Janse van Rensburg is back in midfield for the Lions and his
talent might become the decisive factor. The Lions will also bank on
the rediscovered form of Marnitz Boshoff, Howard Mnisi and the ever
green Courtnall Skosan.
The Bulls, however, have their gems in the mould of hard running Jamba
Ulengo, Tian Schoeman, Jaco Visagie and skipper Arno Botha.
Meanwhile on Saturday, the Sharks are in great form and will be aiming
at taking another step towards hoisting some silverware this year.
They will be hoping that youngsters such as Inny Radebe, Curwin Bosch
and Lukhanyo Am step up to the party.
Western Province, will go into the match looking for nothing but
victory as this would pretty much be their last chance saloon of
progressing. They will heavily rely on veteran Scarra Ntubeni, Cheslin
Kolbe and flyhalf Robert du Preez.
The Lions and WP are in a similar boat in the sense that they are the
teams most affected by national call-ups.
Weekend Fixtures
Boland Cavaliers v Pumas (Wellington, Friday 15.00)
Blue Bulls v Golden Lions (Pretoria, Friday 19.00)
Free State Cheetahs v Eastern Province Kings (Bloemfontein, Saturday 15.00)
Western Province v Cell C Sharks (Cape Town, Saturday 17.10)

Jessica Nkosi gets #Clinique global ambassador role
Her role on Isibaya is that of a powerful woman who leads an entire
village as their Queen Mother. The way she squeezes into that Qondi role is
just dynamic as she has an inspirational way of leading.
That said, Jessica Nkosi has been unveiled as a global ambassador for
Clinique's 'Difference Maker'.
She hopes to make a difference in the lives of children, having lost
her dad to cancer and an HIV related illness.
All the best Jessica.

How to promote your business #Entrepreneurs
Tick...tock...tick...tock.. That is the sound of business, right? We
are living in an epoch governed by young entrepreneurs. While others
are making it with ease, a mass majority are struggling to promote
their businesses.
Fear of failure should never prevent you from aspiring to reach new
grounds. The tables turn every time and your greatest possession would
be your ability to promote your business before it shrinks.
Below are a few pointers to take. Give it a go and see where they lead you.
Have good quality products and/or services: One of the surest ways to
promote your business is through the products and/or services that you
sell or offer. The quality might help you get free advertisement from
some of your customers through their word-of-mouth referrals.
Work your networks: Many businesses thrive because of the network of
the business owner(s). In business it's often said that your network
is your net worth, because it's usually the number of people you know
who are likely to support you in business. It's important to build the
right network of people that might support you and also help you
promote your business.
Use technology: With the advent of social media and technology in our
modern world, it's possible to make your business known to many people
and grow your customer base. For instance, you can create a business
website that is regularly stocked with the products and/or services
that you sell and their prices. You can blog to promote your business
and might also want to use social media platforms such as Facebook.
Donate or sponsor: One of the oldest but most effective ways of
promoting your business is through visible sponsorships or donation.
Identify a community organisation that you can assist financially,
offer your services pro-bono or offer your products to them for free.
This will go a long way into putting your name out there.
