On fire #CasterSemenya to lead Team #SouthAfrica in #Morocco tonight

Caster Semenya will lead a three-member South African contingent on Friday night at the ninth leg of the IAAF Diamond League series in Rabat, Morocco.

Semenya lines up as the firm favourite in the 1 000m Women race, with another quick time on the cards after she clocked a national record of 2:35.43 at the Liquid Telecom Grand Prix Meeting in Tshwane earlier this year.

Her strongest opposition could come from Uganda's Winnie Nanyondo, a former Commonwealth Games 800m medallist, and Kenyan athlete Nelly Jepkosgei.

In the 5 000m Women race, in-form distance runner Dominique Scott-Efurd faces a strong challenge from a quality field.

She will be toe-to-toe on the starting line alongside the likes of indoor world record holder Genzebe Dibaba of Ethiopia and world champion Hellen Obiri of Kenya, in a large line-up which includes 19 athletes.

Though IAAF World Championships medallists Luvo Manyonga , who is on duty at the World Cup in London this weekend and Ruswahl Samaai will not turn out at the Moroccan capital, Zarck Visser will carry the SA flag in the Long Jump Men, which does not form part of the official Diamond League series.

Visser, who set a season best of 8.40m last month, faces a line-up which features former world indoor champions Marquis Dendy of the United States and Ignisious Gaisah of the Netherlands, as well as American athlete Jarrion Lawson, the 2017 IAAF World Championships silver medalist.

Time schedul es of athletes :

19:55 – Zarck Visser (Long Jump Men)

22:05 – Dominique Scott-Efurd (5 000m Women)

22:38 – Caster Semenya (1 000m Women)

Kevin Anderson has told #SouthAfrican youngsters to "stick to their dreams" after he outclassed the GOAT Roger Federer at #Wimbledon

Kevin Anderson told South African youngsters to "stick to their dreams" and follow in his footsteps after he knocked Roger Federer out of Wimbledon on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old Anderson came back from two sets to love down and saved a match point to stun the eight-time champion 2-6, 6-7 (5/7), 7-5, 6-4, 13-11. Anderson became the first South African in the Wimbledon semi-finals since Kevin Curren in 1983 and just the sixth in history.

"Yeah, already gotten tons of messages from support back home," said eighth seed Anderson.

"Obviously at this sort of event, playing against an opponent like Roger is going to have a lot of coverage.

"I really hope it's an example of sticking to your dreams and keep believing in yourself. I always say I was in the same position, it's not easy coming from South Africa, it's very far from the tennis scene."

Anderson is getting used to breaking barriers.

When he finished runner-up to Rafael Nadal at the US Open last year, he was the first South African man in a Slam final since Curren at the 1984 Australian Open.

He was also the oldest first-time finalist at a major since Niki Pilic at the 1973 French Open.

It has been a hard road for Anderson whose ranking slumped to 67 at the end of 2016 as he battled a serious knee injury.

But he has been fairly solid at the Slams ever since, making at least the last-16 at all the majors - with the exception of a first round blip at the Australian Open this year.

"I think I was sort of on the border of actually going on to Australia (in 2017). I decided not to go. I think in hindsight that was a great decision," he recalled.

"That was something I learned from 2016 where I constantly tried to get back into competition too quickly. It just took me a little bit of time to find sort of my legs in the competitive atmosphere. I feel that sort of started to change towards the end of the clay court season last year."

Wow!!! So #Samsung’s Galaxy S10+ will have 5 cameras

The Galaxy S10 is shaping up to be the most exciting new smartphone Samsung has created in years, and a fresh leak on Monday morning reveals new details about one of the Galaxy S10+ model's most intriguing new features.

Just as Apple plans to release three new iPhone models this coming September, we're expecting three new Galaxy S10 models to debut early next year. According to rumors, there will be a main Galaxy S10 model, a lower-cost entry-level Galaxy S10, and then a larger Galaxy S10+ phablet to round out the trio. And as you might expect, it's the Galaxy S10+ that's expected to be the most exciting of the bunch.

The Galaxy S10+ is rumoured to have a bunch of great new features in common with the smaller Galaxy S10 model, such as a new Infinity display design with smaller bezels and an optical fingerprint sensor embedded underneath the screen. But the star of the show on the Galaxy S10+ is expected to be the camera setup, which will help set the phablet apart from the pack and likely also help justify a sky-high price tag.

In the past that the Galaxy S10+ will feature a new triple-lens camera system on the back of the phone, but it was unclear exactly what the third sensor would bring to the table. Now, a new report from Korean-language business news site The Bell might finally shed some light on the Galaxy S10+ unique rear camera setup. On top of that, the report suggests that the phone will have dual front-facing cameras as well, bumping up the phone's camera count to a total of five.

What to do if your #Android smartphone goes missing

Losing your smartphone exposes you to the danger of someone else accessing the personal information it stores—from your private photographs and emails to your online banking profile and social media accounts. But as an Android user, you don't need to panic when your smartphone goes missing since you can remotely wipe your data from the device as soon as it connects to the Internet.

Here are some tips from Alcatel about safeguarding your information when your Android smartphone gets lost or is stolen:

Take steps before you lose your phone

Make sure you're ready to take action should your smartphone go missing by installing Find My Device - the improved Android Device Manager app. Find My Device helps you easily locate a lost Android device, and keeps your information safe while you look for it. Follow these steps to make sure it is enabled:

·         Go to Google Settings > Security > Find My Device.

·         Ensure Find My Device is enabled.

·         Make sure the app has permission to access your location data and enable Remotely Locate This Device.

·         Enable remote lock and erase in Device Manager.

Further precautions to safeguard your data

To be sure your data will be safe should someone get hold of your phone without permission:

·         Don't keep anything private on a microSD card in your phone since remote wiping can't erase this data.

·         Lock your phone behind fingerprint authentication, a code only you know or a pattern lock.

·         Back up your critical data to the Google Drive app so that you can recover your videos, photos and documents from the cloud if your device is lost.

·         To back up your device and account settings: open your device's Settings app tap System > Backup. Turn on your backup service. When you get a new Android smartphone, you can easily recover your Google Contacts data, Google Calendar events and settings, Wi-Fi networks and passwords, Wallpapers, Gmail settings and more.

When your phone is lost, start with Find My Device

So, your phone is gone? Before you erase everything on it, use Find My Device on another Android device or the website to track it down. Perhaps your child dropped it under your car seat, or maybe it's waiting for you at the coffee shop you visited in the morning.

If the smartphone is switched on and connected to a network, you'll see its location on a map. You'll have the option to ring it, lock it or remotely wipe it. If you can't see it on the map, it's probably switched off or can't get a signal. Find My Device will report its location when it's turned on and connected to the Internet.

Use Find My Device to ring it loudly for up to five minutes to locate it if you have simply misplaced it at home or in the office. Or you could change the lock screen message to provide your phone number and perhaps the offer of a small reward to a person who happens to have picked up your phone.

Nuke your data as a last resort

If you're sure your smartphone is gone forever--perhaps it was stolen in a smash-and-grab—erase your data by choosing the relevant option on the Find My Device app or website. Once you erase the data, you will no longer be able to locate your phone and any files, settings or media on your device will be permanently deleted. To be doubly safe, revoke your missing phone's access to your Google Account and change passwords to the online services you were using on your device.

#FakeNews Busted - Finally #WhatsApp Has A New Feature That Will Mark Messages With Fake Links in Red

With WhatsApp becoming the hub of fake news, the company has waged a war to fight the plague, with new features and updates coming in to curb fake news.

The latest feature being that it will alert users of fake news forwarded within groups.

WhatsApp will automatically check the authenticity of the website links that are being shared through the new 'Suspicious link' feature.

The moment a user receives a link to a website on WhatsApp, the app will do a background check of the link and will mark the message with a red label.

The red label will indicate that it is either a spam or a phishing link or is redirecting to a fake website.

This feature is made available on the WhatsApp 2.18.204 beta version and can be expected to roll out very soon.

Being the latest step in WhatsApp's fight against fake news, this feature adds to features like blocking unknown senders, preventing people from adding others in groups they have left, demoting group admins, group members restricting members from sending messages in a particular group and the forwarded message label, which lets a user know if the message he/she received is a forwarded one.
