#Google unveils its 55 inch super tablet - The #Jamboard

Google has revealed its new giant touch-screen 'super tablet' for organizations attempting to make it easier for their employees to brainstorm as they work on team projects and other assignments. Google is hoping that the "Jamboard" can replace the whiteboard when it goes on sale beginning in May of next year, to be priced at $4,999. The Jamboard super tablet measures at 55 inches with ultrahigh definition screen capable of recognizing the difference between someone writing on the screen with a stylus or touching it with a finger.

Google will be releasing the device to a small group of companies this coming Tuesday before making it widely available in May of next year. As a whiteboard alternative, employees can post their ideas, documents, and images on the Jamboard, without the need to use markers, tape, or sticky notes. Instead, they can use their fingers, a stylus, a smartphone, and smaller tablets to share information and content from anywhere so long as there is an adequate internet connection.

All the work posted on a Jamboard can be saved in Google's online 'Drive' storage service. This super tablet / electronic whiteboard represents Google's latest effort to lure business and government customers away from Microsoft, since the latter makes a similar product called the Surface Hub. Google is attempting to undercut Microsoft by pricing Jamboard at $4,999, this being 33 percent lower than Surface Hub's price of $9,000.

#ProductReview: #Suntory Gold Blended Malt

Suntory Gold Blended Malt. 42 per cent alcohol.

Nose: Not great. A little sherry and oak. Label says it is fully matured in Sherry casks. Doesn't taste like it. Also, plasticine, glue and cheap brandy.

Palate: A little better than the nose--bread dough, some lime and tangerine. Then ruined again by the plasticine and glue.

Finish: Bitter, with plasticine and, thankfully, short.

General comment: According to The Whisky Exchange, this was bottled in the 70s. It has clearly come a long way since then.

#Springbok Heinrich Brussow's wife wows #TheVoice SA coaches

In tonight's penultimate episode of The Voice SA Blind Auditions, seven acts made the cut into the four coaches' teams in total, including Caroline-Grace Brüssow – the wife of Springbok rugby player Heinrich Brüssow - who was in the audience cheering her on! Caroline-Grace (28), an attorney from Bloemfontein, flew in for The Voice auditions all the way from Osaka, Japan, where she and Henrich live for six months of the year due to his rugby obligations there.

Her powerful rendition of Céline Dion's "Loved Me Back to Life" landed her a spot on #TeamBobby, so now it looks like rugby will have to take a back seat for her in 2017! "You're such a small lady but with such a huge voice! Well done on pulling off such a massive song," Bobby congratulated Caroline-Grace. This impressive talent from Bloem was the only singer to land on Bobby van Jaarsveld's team tonight, but #TeamKahn scored big, with the Parlotones front man bagging three new acts.

The first performance that made Kahn's ears prick up was that of the second duo of the season, known as "Symphony". Charl Esterhuizen (20) and 27-year-old Christopher Mabasa met one fateful evening when Charl walked into a bar and saw Christopher performing "Footloose" at the karaoke. Charl started singing karaoke with Christopher that night and the rest was history!

The duo has been performing ever since in and around Emalahleni, where Christopher lives with the Esterhuizens as an adopted member of their family. "South Africa needs an act like you," Lira mused after their performance. Luckily for them, South Africa will now be treated to more from this unique brotherly duo, as their rendition of Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" secured them a spot on #TeamKahn and a pass into the Battle rounds of the competition.

Kahn Morbee also bagged a big fish tonight after a brilliant performance that warranted four chair turns from all of the coaches. Craig Lucas (24) from Cape Town is a graduate in Economics and Politics at UCT, but despite a promising career ahead of him in the corporate world, Craig has always secretly loved singing.

He made a promise to his mother that he would finish his degree first before starting on a road to music, and boldly took the plunge to come to The Voice SA, despite never having sung in front of so many people before. His blistering version of The Animals' "House of the Rising Sun" was so good that the coaches could not stop enthusing about it. "You gripped us from the first note, and just when we thought it couldn't get any better, you just kept taking us higher and higher," raved Lira. Despite desperate pleas from all of the coaches to join their teams, Craig ultimately chose Kahn Morbee – the first coach to turn for him at the start of his song.

The third member to be welcomed into #TeamKahn tonight was also possibly the most surprising and unusual. Christy-Lyn Marais (28) from Bergvliet in Cape Town has been playing musical instruments and singing since she was in primary school, but is a qualified Occupational Therapist who has now decided that her passion for music needs to take priority.

She came to The Voice SA tonight with her harp in tow to perform the haunting ballad "Scarborough Fair" - made famous by Simon and Garfunkel. Coach Kahn instantly heard a classical quality in Christy-Lyn's voice and turned for her. As the rest of the coaches turned after Christy-Lyn's performance, they were all incredibly surprised to see that she was playing the harp while singing! "This is far out, girl!" Karen Zoid exclaimed when she saw Christy-Lyn's harp on the stage, while coach Kahn told Christy-Lyn that he was thrilled to add a classical voice to his eclectic team.

Soulful songstress Lira also added two talent to her team tonight. Full-time musician and voice over artist Spha Mdlalose (28) from Cape Town has never entered a music competition before, but one would never guess that as her calm, confident, jazzy rendition of the Aretha Franklin classic "Say A Little Prayer" was enough to wow the coaches. "I want you. I HAVE to have you on my team," Lira told a clearly elated Spha.

Coach Kahn complimented Spha on the amazing tone of her voice too, but flattery could only get him so far, as Spha picked Lira to be her coach. The second talent to secure themselves a spot on Lira's team tonight was another 28-year-old from Johannesburg. Bryce MacMillan is an audio engineer and DJ whose soulful version of Ne*Yo's "So Sick" was good enough for Lira to press her buzzer almost immediately.

#FreshlyGround and #Hotstix to share stage for the first time

Get set to revel with two of South Africa's biggest and finest institutions, FreshlyGround and Sipho "Hotstix" Mabuse, when they share the stage, for the very first time, on Saturday, 25 March 2017.

In what is set to be an extraordinary night out, these two heavyweights will come together at the intimate Spier Amphitheatre stage, on the cusp of Stellenbosch, as part of Mabuse's 50-year-celebration in music. "All the classics will be in there," Sipho divulges, "including Burn Out, Shikisha, and many more of songs that have shaped me as a musician, philanthropist and father to my beautiful daughters."

As to what Freshly fans can expect from the multi-platinum-selling globetrotters? With their 6th album currently in final production with Swedish producer Tore Johannson, the group may just offer a sample of what's to come from the group in the months ahead. "There will be material never performed before," Zolani teases. "There will also be some deviations from the usual popular material too."

"I've never played at Spier before," Sipho declares. "I've also never performed with FreshlyGround before either. I have huge respect for the music they create, and they are lovely people which just enhances the whole experience."

The much-applauded Around The Fire and Wrestling With Dawn producer, playwright and performer, Siphokazi Jonas will also share the stage, on the night, revealing yet another side to her dynamic talent. "I'm delighted to have her open for us," Sipho says. "I have watched Siphokazi, over the last two years, create her own path and make work for herself, all of which needs to be heard and applauded. I'm really looking forward to a great night."

A long overdue marriage of two trailblazers, expect pomp, expect ceremony and a night filled with glorious celebration and tumultuous applause. Join the chorus and come sing along.

Floyd Mayweather officially 'out of retirement' as June fight with Conor McGregor fast becomes a reality

Floyd Mayweather Jr. confirmed he's willing to bring an end to his retirement if a deal can be struck to fight UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor.

On Saturday, MMA Fighting passed along comments the boxing superstar made to FightHype about his status:

"For Conor McGregor, I'm coming out of retirement, just to fight Conor McGregor:

I don't want to hear no more excuses about the money, about the UFC. Sign the paper with the UFC so you can fight me in June. Simple and plain. Let's fight in June. You're the B side, I'm the A side. We're not here to cry about money. I'm tired of all this crying about money and talking about you want to fight. You blowing smoke up everybody's ass. If you want to fight, sign the paperwork, let's do it.

Today, I'm officially out of retirement for Conor McGregor. We don't need to waste no time. We need to make this s–t happen quickly. Let's get it on in June."

Here's the complete set of remarks from the 49-0 five-division world champion:

"Me and Floyd have got to get together and talk to figure it out, the same way him and Manny [Pacquiao] figured it out," the Irishman said. "Once we come to a set number that I'm happy with and he's happy with, then we go to the customers, then we go to the promoters, the buyers, then we get it done."

McGregor added: "This is happening."

The financial breakdown remains the biggest sticking point in negotiations.

Brian Campbell of ESPN.com previously provided remarks Mayweather made on First Take about demanding a guaranteed nine-figure payday.

"We tried to make the Conor McGregor fight," Mayweather said in January. "They know what my number is. My number is a guaranteed $100 million. That was my number."

Money also stated his camp offered The Notorious $15 million with the opportunity to negotiate how much each fighter would receive from the pay-per-view revenue.

A few days after those comments went public, UFC President Dana White put a different offer on the table during an appearance on The Herd with Colin Cowherd:

BREAKING: @danawhite makes a REAL OFFER to @FloydMayweather for a fight vs. Conor McGregor:
$25 million for each and negotiate PPV split

— Herd w/Colin Cowherd (@TheHerd) January 13, 2017

It's hard to imagine a scenario where Mayweather would accept anything close to $25 million after originally demanding $100 million. That said, the uncertain level of interest from mainstream sports fans makes it tough to gauge how much PPV revenue the fight would generate.

All told, Mayweather and McGregor are both outstanding self-promoters. They know the hype helps them both stay in the spotlight, so the public war of words will likely continue. There's still no sign a deal to fight each other is imminent, though.
