Community rallies to help cancer-stricken teenager #WeDoMoreWednesdays

Amanda Ndlovu, a courageous teenager from Empangeni, has been battling cancer for the past four years. Diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma at the age of 13, Amanda's life has been filled with medical care and hospital visits, forcing her to drop out of school. Despite undergoing various cycles of treatment, Amanda continues to relapse as the disease progresses.

Currently receiving chemotherapy treatment at Albert Luthuli Hospital, Amanda's specialists believe that a different and costly treatment could be beneficial for her. However, due to financial constraints, her family cannot afford medical aid or privately fund the treatment. They are now turning to crowd-funding in the hopes of sourcing a PD1 inhibitor, such as Nivolumab or Pembrolizumab, which has shown effectiveness in the relapsed or refractory setting.

Amanda's dream is to become a radiographer and help others in their healing journeys. Having spent numerous years in hospitals, she has noticed the shortage of radiographers and wants to be a part of filling that gap. However, in order to achieve her dreams, Amanda needs to overcome her battle with cancer and receive the necessary treatment.

Compassionate individuals in the community are rallying together to raise funds for Amanda's treatment. A social media campaign has been launched to spread the word and reach a larger audience. The family needs to raise over R100,000 for just one cycle of the recommended treatment.

Amanda's story is a call for divine intervention and financial support. She hopes that one day she will be healed and have the strength to finish school and pursue her dreams. For those willing to donate or find out more information, Amanda's mother, Phumelele Ngema, can be contacted at 072 7889597 or 073 2048487.

Let us come together as a community and support Amanda in her fight against cancer. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in her life. Together, we can help Amanda receive the treatment she desperately needs and give her hope for a brighter future.
