Phophi Ramabulana is a passionate advocate for women empowerment, culture and heritage preservation

Phophi Ramabulana, a survivor of gender-based violence and major depression, is a passionate advocate for women empowerment, culture and heritage preservation, and improving the lives of vulnerable populations.

Currently a semi-finalist for Miss Bachelorette South Africa 2024, she has also been crowned Miss Mamelodi Sundowns in 2009, representing Limpopo.

Ramabulana has been actively involved in various projects within the Department of Social Development, including the development of a victim empowerment program, a national Integrated Social Information System, a child protection register, and alternative (foster) care systems.

These initiatives aim to support and uplift individuals and communities affected by social issues.

In addition to her work within the government, Ramabulana has dedicated her time and resources to charity work in her community.

She has organized shoe drives, sewing skills transfer programs, extra lessons for learners, music and arts projects, health and fitness programs, education enrichment programs, after-school care programs, sanitary pad campaigns, and education on feminine hygiene.

Through these efforts, she aims to address the needs of marginalized groups, particularly girls and women who cannot afford sanitary pads, and provide nutritious meals to the underprivileged and elderly through a soup kitchen.

Ramabulana's commitment to making a positive impact has not gone unnoticed. In 2020, she was awarded the Champion of Caselines South Africa award for her contribution to implementing a digital evidence management system in courts in Pretoria and Johannesburg.

She is also an entrepreneur and philanthropist, recently receiving a nomination for the Awards Africa 2023.

Her mission as a beauty pageant queen is to meet the holistic needs of individuals by providing supportive, recreational, cultural, sporting, and welfare programs in partnership with the community, businesses, and government.

Through her various initiatives, Ramabulana aims to improve the living standards of children, youth, women, the elderly, and people with disabilities.

She seeks to provide support, care, counseling, and opportunities for personal development by enhancing life skills, self-image, and vocational motivation.

By building community capacity and promoting social interaction, she hopes to create better-integrated and coordinated services and develop local solutions to local problems.

With the support of her community, Ramabulana continues to work towards her vision of a more empowered and inclusive society in Limpopo and beyond.
