Hair dresser reveals the trends she hates as a stylist #FridayFeeling #GirlTalkZA

A professional hairdresser has revealed which popular trend makes you look like the famous face of McDonald's, as well as other styles you might want to steer clear of.

From the Aussie-beloved mullet to wild cuts in every colour imaginable, the trends in the hair and beauty industry are almost never-ending.

But although some, like the so-called messy 'wolf cut' have become all the rage, there are certain styles that hairdressers cannot stand.

And someone who knows a little about this is Sierra Haring, 27, from California, the USA – according to the whizz, there is one sought-after trend that's giving Ronald McDonald vibes.

If you're looking to give your hair a makeover, best keep reading to find out which viral styles your hairdresser might give you a dirty look for…

Silver hair

After taking over our social media feeds a few years ago, the silver colour trend is back stronger than ever and almost every 'cool' girl is sporting the look.

But although the colour is a relatively easy-to-maintain choice, especially if you're greying, Sierra had mixed feelings about the silver pick.

"I'm not saying it can't look good. I'm saying that I, personally, don't like it.

"I don't enjoy doing silver hair and I don't personally love how it looks."

She went on to explain in the video: "I think nine times out of ten, it never turns out how you want it to – and you're gonna be old at some point, so have fun hair for a little bit."

Highlighter roots

It's no secret that at just 21, the American singer Billie Eilish dominates the fashion and beauty industry, often setting trends.

Perhaps one of the most memorable looks from her era so far has been the bright neon green roots, which have gone viral.

However, as Sierra noted, although the hot roots can look good, most of the time they just don't.

"Personally, wouldn't get it; don't love it. I think it can be cool, I've seen hairstylists do cool things – but for me, it's a no."

Bright red

Red dye has always been a vibrant and a bold choice – but here, according to the hair whizz, the shade can make or break the overall result.

As Sierra explained in her video, if you opt for a more orange-based red tone, you'll end up looking like the famous face of the fast food chain McDonad's.

"It just feels very Ronald McDonald.

"There is people who can pull it off but once again [I] would not be putting it on my head."

Soft pastels

Last but certainly not least in the list of trends she would not "f**k with" were pastels, a perfect option for those who cannot commit to a bold shade just yet.

Despite Sierra insisting the trend was stunning, taking care of pastel-coloured hair is a nightmare, she said.

"Even with proper aftercare, the likelihood that this will last more than six weeks is pretty f*****g low because it's already so light."

The pro wrote in the caption: "Sorry not sorry."
