There is no denying that media personality and entrepreneur Sibusiso "DJ Sbu" Leope had a turbulent 2016.
But being the ever motivational person that he is, 2017 promises to be a great year for the goal getter.
He is set to meet potential investors and distributors in the US next month to discuss export opportunities for his energy drink MoFaya.
DJ Sbu launched the drink in late 2014‚ unveiling it as the first 100% black-owned beverage brand in South Africa. The drink's popularity in South Africa inspired DJ Sbu to take the brand to the US.
"I will be flying to America in three weeks' time to give a talk at Harvard Business College in Boston. But while I am there‚ I will also be meeting with people who are interested in MoFaya.
"I launched MoFaya in London with the idea to only distribute it to a small community at first. We have been distributing it to the African community in London‚ because we saw that they were interested in the product‚ and it has really grown," he told Times Media.
DJ Sbu's zealous efforts to promote his energy drink have seen the star make headlines for "ambush marketing". It seems all those efforts fell on fertile ground and he can only expect a bumper 2017.
