Small screen entertainment has evolved over the years and viewers are getting more value for their money than ever before. With winter fast approaching, couch potatoes will be looking forward to quality entertainment that will keep them locked indoors.
We caught up with Sony Pictures Television Africa Channels Territory Director, Sonja Underwood to find out more about how the brand has grown over the years. Sony Max South Africa is a general entertainment channel that is part of the DStv bouquet.
Sony Max SA, which is completely localised to South African viewers, recently introduced a hot new edgy look that shows off the thrills and spills of what you can watch on the channel.
Broadcast on DStv channel 128, Sony Max has vastly grown with that growth visible through shows dished out.
"Sony Max (DStv Channel 128) has grown in recent years. We continuously look for shows that our viewers can resonate with. We stay up-to-date with what viewers are interested in and what they want to watch.
"Sony Max constantly aims to deliver a variety of compelling shows on the channel. We seek to provide the viewers with never before seen shows such as Counting Cars, Hack my Life and Cash Dome to name a few, as well as popular shows such as 1000 Ways to Die, Impractical Jokers, Baywatch and What Went Down," attested Sonja.
Sony Max now has an exciting new logo that is appealing and Sonja professed that the creative had been in the pipeline.
"For a while now, Sony Max has been looking to create a new logo and graphics that would resonate with the shows that are aired on the channel. We wanted to create something that is edgy but yet fitting to the Sony Pictures Television brand," she said.
The future is more than just camera, lights and action for Sony Max as a diverse range of programming will be implemented in the near future.
According to Sonja, Sony Pictures Television is always looking for exciting and new shows that will resonate with the Sony Max viewer. They will also ensure that shows aired on Sony Max are relevant, informative and provide for enjoyable entertainment.
"We are extremely excited for the future of Sony Max in South Africa. With interesting shows and programming that are uniquely Sony Max, we will continue to ensure that our programming stays relevant in order to keep our viewers glued to their screens and tuned into our channel," added Sonja.
