They are competing in the Best International Act: Africa category at the awards, to be held on 26 June at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, USA.
They will compete against the likes of Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), Yemi Alade (Nigeria), Mzvee (Ghana), Serge Beynaud (Cote d’lvoire) and Nigerian starboy Wizkid.
AKA simple said, “Wow, Thank You” while Cassper said that he was honoured by the nomination.
“Look at God!!! Words cannot express how grateful I am to have such a loving God!!! All the glory to him!!! Let’s bring the first South African BET home!!! This is for all the independent artists out there!!! For all the African kids with a dream!!!,” Cassper wrote.
Both AKA and Cassper were nominated for a BET Award last year, AKA in the Best International Act category and Cassper in the Viewers’ Choice Best International Act. Neither of them won their respective categories
