The 11th annual Saftas will be held at Sun City on 18 March and will be hosted by the multi-talented Thando Thabethe and TV host Katlego Maboe.
Thabethe told DESTINY that she's honoured to have been given such a major platform to use her gift.
"It's the biggest night for film and TV in the country, and only a few people in a lifetime will be given the opportunity to host such a show; it's a great honour and I'm so excited," Thabethe says.
She reckons the nerves will only start kicking in soon before the show begins.
"I'm not anxious about anything. I'm pretty relaxed for now. That will probably change a couple of hours before the show, but for now I'm fine," she says.
While presenting involves reading off a teleprompter, Thabethe says it's always been important for her to have her uniqueness come through.
"Audiences can expect to see my personality … it takes a lot of effort to not be yourself. The thing about being authentic is the fact that there's only one you and no one else can do you better. So why try to be someone else when that's only going to leave you in second place?"
She says that while she can't reveal any of her upcoming projects for the year, she does believe 2017 will be another stellar year for her career.
"2017 has only just begun … and I've got a lot of great things coming up. I hope this year proves to be another great one," she says.
