On Friday, award-winning TV and radio broadcaster Masechaba Ndlovu took to Twitter to announce that she's cut ties with PowerFM.
"I have resigned from PowerFM with immediate effect. Thank you all for your unwavering love and support. Wishing the station all of the best," she wrote.
In an interview with Destiny magazine, Ndlovu said she'll continue with her lecturing and training workshops.
"I'll be continuing to run training sessions through Masechaba Media and taking my training all over the country. We've identified a corporate sponsor that wants to jump on board and that will subsidise the whole project," Ndlovu said.
"The training involves presentation skills and interview skills for people who don't have access to this kind of training. It's also for young people who find themselves in the wrong industry and don't know how to change the course of their career," she added.
She says that she's been doing this informally for a few years but that in the past couple of months it's become more formal.
For the rest of year, Ndlovu will focus much of her energy on empowering young people, not only with knowledge focused on presentation and interview skills but also giving them confidence coaching.
"A lot of young people lack confidence and that's the one thing I've found that people look up to me for. So far we've been doing it through other institutions, but now we're focusing on doing it full-time because clearly this is my calling," she says.
