Yes, you heard right.
SuperSport is looking for new rugby commentators to headline the SuperSport Rugby Challenge and have earmarked you to fulfil this role.
Before being handed a contract and getting introduced to your new co-workers, who include the likes of legendary Hugh Bladen, 2016 SAB Sports Awards Commentator of the Year, Kaunda Ntunja, and the doyen of Afrikaans commentary Hennie Koortzen, you'll first have to prove yourself behind the microphone in a series of commentary stints starting with preliminary auditions in selected cities across the country.
The World of Champions is searching for six new rugby commentators, two each for English, Afrikaans and isiXhosa. The chosen six will be the voices behind the SuperSport Rugby Challenge, a new provincial competition which starts on 22/23 April.
Preliminary auditions will be held in Port Elizabeth on Monday, April 3 at St George's Park Cricket Stadium.
Cape Town's aspirants will also have their turn on Monday, April 3 at the Newlands Rugby Stadium, and in Johannesburg auditions take place on Friday, April 7 at the SuperSport Lodge at SuperSport HQ in Randburg.
Auditions are open to both South African and non-South African citizens living legally in the country and are over the age of 18.
Selected entrants from the three preliminary auditions will then move on to the final round of auditions on the 8th of April at the Sandton City Mall where they'll be trimmed down to a top 12.
The top 12 will battle it out in a commentators' "boot camp" which includes training and various commentating assignments before the six winners are announced.
HOW IT WORKS
Prospective participants will travel to audition venues, register and commentate over a 30-second clip in the language of their choice. The three language options are English, Afrikaans and isiXhosa. Upon completion of the audition, a panel of judges made up of SuperSport commentators will provide immediate feedback to determine whether or not the participant moves on to the final round of auditions in Sandton.
