Twelve hours, and potentially more, of top back-to-back sports action
lie in wait for sports fans on SuperSport on Saturday.
Major rugby, soccer and tennis dominate the schedule, but the
Paralympics from Rio will also be broadcast through the night to
ensure there's something for everyone on the TV menu.
World Cup champions New Zealand open their Rugby Championship account
against Argentina (SS1, 9.30am), followed at midday by Australia
against South Africa from Brisbane (SS1).
The soccer then comes thick and fast with the great Manchester derby –
United against City – live from 1.30pm on SS3. There are many
storylines in this appetising fixture, not least of which is the clash
of flamboyant managers Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola.
And then, at 4pm, fans can choose between Arsenal-Southampton (SS3)
and Real Madrid-Osasuna (SS12).
At 5pm the table-topping Sharks and Cheetahs meet in an intriguing
Currie Cup clash (SS1).
Soccer action comes roaring back at 6.30pm with Liverpool against
Leicester marking the opening of the new Anfield (SS3), followed at
8.30pm by Barcelona versus Alaves (SS12) and, closer to home, Wits
against Cape Town City in the MTN 8 (SS4).
The women's US Open final takes place at Flushing Meadows where Serena
Williams will potentially threaten for a staggering seventh singles
crown (SS6, 10pm).
For late-night owls, the Paralympics action is bound to be riveting
with the action scheduled for SS13 and SS14.
