It's spring time and don't we all loving going out to enjoy the
weather. Whether its a braai with the boys or shopping with the girls,
its going to be a whole lot cheaper because the Department of Energy
has confirmed that fuel prices in South Africa will be adjusted on
September 7, when the price of petrol is expected to drop by 18 cents
per litre.
The price of diesel will drop by 49 cents per litre, while the price
of illuminating paraffin will drop by 47 cents per litre. These aren't
the prices that had been expected midway through August, but there
have been several factors that have contributed significantly to the
subsequent adjustment.
"A key factor that contributed to the increase in the prices of crude
oil was the news that the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting
Countries (OPEC) and other key exporters are likely to revive talks on
freezing output levels when meeting in Algeria in September 2016,"
read a statement from the Department of Energy this week.
So there you have it. Get your car keys out and get ready to burn some
serious fuel this spring. Remember not to drink and drive neh.
Laduuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuma.
