Without any international rugby scheduled for this weekend, all eyes
will be on 'hard to ignore' Currie Cup fixtures this weekend headlined
by the Lions trip to Pretoria and the ever appetizing Western Province
vs Sharks clash.
In Pretoria on Friday night, the Bulls, fresh from their forgettable
loss to the Sharks last week, welcome a Lions outfit that has had its
fair share of mixed fortunes in the competition.
Rohan Janse van Rensburg is back in midfield for the Lions and his
talent might become the decisive factor. The Lions will also bank on
the rediscovered form of Marnitz Boshoff, Howard Mnisi and the ever
green Courtnall Skosan.
The Bulls, however, have their gems in the mould of hard running Jamba
Ulengo, Tian Schoeman, Jaco Visagie and skipper Arno Botha.
Meanwhile on Saturday, the Sharks are in great form and will be aiming
at taking another step towards hoisting some silverware this year.
They will be hoping that youngsters such as Inny Radebe, Curwin Bosch
and Lukhanyo Am step up to the party.
Western Province, will go into the match looking for nothing but
victory as this would pretty much be their last chance saloon of
progressing. They will heavily rely on veteran Scarra Ntubeni, Cheslin
Kolbe and flyhalf Robert du Preez.
The Lions and WP are in a similar boat in the sense that they are the
teams most affected by national call-ups.
