The #NoToXenophobia peace march is currently underway in Durban. The March, which was organised and led by religious and political leaders, started at Curries Fountain at 10:00 and is moving through the central business district to City Hall.
There is heavy police presence in Durban for any possible disruptions to the march.
“We want people to be aware that we will have a large force present in the city of Durban. This alone should serve as a deterrent to anyone who thinks it is a good idea to start causing trouble. They will be dealt with,” said Police spokesperson Major Thulani Zwane earlier in regards to any possible disrputions.
