Craft beer, live music, kiddies activities, ocean views, family fun and even a Jägermeister chocolate cake — the Kei Beer Fest is back with a bang this coming Saturday.
Taking place at the Kei Mouth Country Club in the seaside village of Kei Mouth along the Wild Coast, the festival is a highlight for the community, and not just because of the tasty ales and festivities.
The event, which was first held in 2019 and then experienced a two-year hiatus owing to Covid-19, is also a means to raise funds.
Local breweries Emerald Vale and Table 58 will form part of the festival, with SAB also hosting a stall.
A family-friendly atmosphere will prevail in the afternoon and patrons will be able to enjoy craft, art and gift stalls and a supervised children's play area while golfers will be able to get their weekly fix with nine holes of the course open.
Wine tasting and food stalls, offering both savoury and sweet treats, will also be open throughout the day and into the evening.
"The Jägermeister chocolate cake is not to be missed," Albrecht said.
"From about 6pm we will be enjoying music from Wesley Thatcher and the party will really get going.
"After the tough times of the pandemic and all the other challenges we are facing, the organisers intend this festival to be an opportunity for people to reconnect with old friends, make new friends, enjoy some fun and laughter and create great memories," Albrecht said.
The beer fest kicks off at noon on Saturday and tickets are R50 per adult, while under 18s get in free. Entry to the play area is R30 per child.
Alcohol will be for sale strictly to over 18s wearing the festival wristband.
