HAPPIEST SONG EVER.. OFFICIAL! #Fridayfeeling

Good Vibrations by The Beach Boys is the happiest song of all time, according to a top boffin's formula.

The 1966 hit single ticks all the boxes for the perfect track, says Dr Michael Bonshor, who has a PhD in music psychology.

He worked out which chords, how many beats a minute and which key are needed to create the happiest hit.

Dr Bonshor, of Sheffield University, said: "Studies have found songs are perceived as happy if they are in a major key, with a sweet spot of around 137 beats per minute."

He also found happy songs should have a short intro, repeated riffs, be loud and be both predictable and surprising.

Other top mood-boosting songs, according to the formula, include I Got You (I Feel Good) by James Brown, House Of Fun by Madness and Get The Party Started by P!nk.

Dr Bonshor's happy formula has been used to create a pitch-perfect track called The Lighter Note.

It was commissioned by Mullerlight, who also quizzed people on how music affects their lives.

They found 32% used music every day to improve their mood.

And 46 % of those asked said they felt even happier when they sang along to their favourite tracks.
