No country remains the same after a pandemic strikes #coronavirus #coronavirusinsa #Covid_19

Way back in 2015, Bill Gates, the American business magnate, software
developer and philanthropist, warned about a possible pandemic that could
engulf the world, and he called for various measures to be put in place to
counteract the spread of an epidemic that could cost the world $3 trillion
(about R51 trillion), among other things.

But of course the politicians never listened.

History has demonstrated that various pandemics (Black Death, Spanish Flu,
HIV /Aids and cholera), with the first recorded in 430 BC, have wreaked
major economic, political and social havoc in people's lives.

No country remains the same once a pandemic sets in.

Covid-19 will now wreak the same havoc, perhaps much quicker than any of
those before.

As we are asked to self-isolate, etc. we need to reflect on who we are and
what our purpose is on Earth, and examine our abusive relationship with
nature.

And we must think of ways to amend this behaviour, and also our attitude to
all other humans, animals and plants and all other living things.
