The African Pride Hotel in Johannesburg recently hosted the Pan African
Women's Business Association, showcasing success stories of African
businesswomen such as Rose Ali, of Wine Routes, who specialises in
importing SA wines into Kenya for the Kenyan hospitality industry and
Kenyan Airlines business class clients, to name but a few of her
initiatives.
All these awesome African women's commerce goings-on were showcased on eNCA
#Africa.
Women need to be in every facet of traditionally maledominated strongholds
— government, politics, business, entrepreneurship,
SMMEs, civil society, religion and so on.
You name it, women need to be in there, their opinions sought and their
participation encouraged, even in traditional strongholds such as culture
or custom.
They will rightfully have their say in all aspects concerning humanity, as
they are responsible for life among all humans.
That said, it is deeply gratifying and assuring to see women step up to the
plate and break glass ceilings so long established and ensconced in the
male dominance domain.
I do not have a chromosome deficiency, or too much, in my take on total
women emancipation.
I'm a hot-blooded male like any other, and speak from that platform for our
female folk unequivocally and without malice.
African women mentioned in #Africa this week are infusing art into
furniture and interior design using traditional symbols such as the drum,
calabash shape and walking stick.
These are incorporated into beautiful designs for items like chairs,
chandeliers and lampshades.
These women ooze so much talent, drive and verve that they will eventually
have to employ, yes, male artisans to get local, national and international
orders done.
Today's interconnectedness makes things just the touch of a button away,
spawning industries that will take Africa to greater economic growth and
benefits.
Let no man stand in the way of feminist progress, lest he thwart peace here
on earth in the process.
Remember men, God put Adam to sleep and removed his rib to give him a
partner, as it was not good for man to be alone.
The way women can multitask leaves us bamboozled, so do the right thing and
don't stand in their way!
