Many poor people are doing it for themselves. In the townships, they run small businesses to support their families and to overcome poverty.
The informal sector helps a lot of people to survive.
As South Africans we can help our fellow citizens out of poverty by supporting small businesses in our townships.
This will also contribute to decreasing the unemployment rate in the country and it could mean a drop in crime.
