Castle Lite Unlocks is defying expectations by bringing two nights of fun-filled entertainment and a lifestyle extravaganza to the Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg, from June 17 to 18.
The festival, packed with every aspect of hip hop culture as we know it, from energy charged musical performances to progressive street-culture displays, gaming, international fashion collaborations and power-packed panel discussions, kicks off with a special line-up featuring the legendary US radio host, Sway Calloway, who will host the poetry-packed gig, Sway Cold Cyphers.
Rapper Meek Mill (US), South African rappers Shane Eagle, Rouge, AKA, Cassper Nyovest and more will deliver performances. Female rapper Deko Barbara-Jessica Wedi, known as Rouge, said hip hop culture had certainly evolved over the years.
Shane Eagle said his ultimate dream for the hip hop scene was a unified, global music industry; this was echoed by Boss
Zonke hitmaker Riky Rick. Day two of the event will feature a line-up led by US rapper Post Malone. The rapper, who went from being relatively unknown to clinching four Grammy nominations with his album, Beerbongs & Bentleys, will perform alongside his American homie, rapper Tyla Yaweh. Also on the bill on the night are South African favourite Riky Rick, Rouge and Nasty C.
