Makeup artist reveals you’re making yourself look old with blush & how to fix it #GirlTalkZA

A makeup artist has revealed that your blush placement is making you look much older than you are.

Erica Taylor took to social media revealing the exact method to apply it for a more lifted and youthful look.

Stitching a video with a dermatologist who revealed the scientific reason you should be applying your blusher higher on your cheekbones, Erica agreed.

"So Doctor Charles who explains facial anatomy as a doctor has showed that we indeed have to go higher than we think for blush and contour, as I've been saying," she said.

The makeup pro then demonstrated exactly where your blush and contour placement should start.

Starting with contour, she revealed the placement should begin on the cheekbone rather than below it.

You can also add a line going down at the end if you want to slim down your face as well as accentuate your cheekbones.

This trick should be avoided on ageing skin as it can make the face appear more gaunt and hollow.

For blusher, it should start directly in line with the pupil of the eye, just below the under eye.

Erica, who also studied drawing, revealed this technique adds volume and lift to the face to create a youthful appearance.

As a rule of thumb, she said you should put your blusher wherever you think your highlighter would go.

The end result sees Erica's cheeks look fuller giving the illusion of a rounder, younger face.

The clip posted to her TikTok account @ericataylor2347 has since gone viral with over one million views and over 100k likes.
