Ruan Combrinck's kick was just a teaser of why the #Lions will roar this season

SuperRugby teams from the New Zealand conference have been having a great time in the competition. Talk of dominance after dominance.

But on Saturday afternoon, the Lions proved just why they might upset the apple cart this season.

The Sharks had ruffled the Lions' feathers with an aggressive, in-your-face style of rugby that saw them race into a 14-3 lead at half-time and leave the Lions a wounded lot. Not at any stage during the season had they looked so out-of-sorts; forced into making error after error.

It was a disastrous game for the Lions and it had the sign of defeat written all over their badge.

With virtually the last kick of the game,up stepped Combrink. He slotted the kick that mattered to put the Lions 23-21 up with two minutes to go. The home team hung on for the victory for a place in the semi-finals against the Hurricanes next weekend
