Kaizer Chiefs players and staff have commenced the first phase of their rigorous preseason program at Naturena. Amidst the intense training sessions, the club is reportedly considering an ambitious preseason tour to Turkey, potentially extending to Belgium and the Netherlands.
Turkey Emerges as Potential Destination
Initial reports indicated that Chiefs were considering Belgium and the Netherlands as potential preseason destinations. However, Turkey has emerged as a third option, with rumors circulating about a possible match against European giants Galatasaray. A source close to the club confirmed the plans for a three-country tour, including a potential clash with Galatasaray.
"They (Chiefs) are still looking at Belgium and Holland, but they have added Turkey to their list," the source said. "Maybe the coach advised them to include Turkey because it would provide a great challenge for the team's preparations."
Clash with Galatasaray on the Cards
A second source provided further insight into Chiefs' preseason opponents, indicating that a match against a Tanzanian team is also being considered.
"They (Chiefs) are also expected to host a team from Tanzania," the source revealed. "This will allow them to assess the team's performance against European and African opposition. Everything is in the pipeline and close to being finalized for both the European and Tanzanian teams."
