Clean up and keep the #kasi clean

Nowadays we seem to have developed a very bad habit of throwing rubbish all over the place, feeding rodents in the process – something that's become problematic ekasi.

With this type of behaviour, getting rid of rats will take a long time. Littering puts our lives, particularly those of our children, in jeopardy and leaves us vulnerable to infectious diseases.

We dump dirt and plastics in rivers, causing water and air pollution. That puts the lives of animals at risk.

There are designated walking places and dumping areas at our recreational parks yet we choose to walk on the lawn and litter everywhere. Motorists also throw stuff out of their car windows, including lit cigarette butts.

Joburg used to be rated among the cleanest and tidiest cities in the world but look at it today. Also, there's nothing as disgusting as seeing men urinating anywhere they please.

By keeping our environment clean and tidy we'll surely be visiting doctors less because we'll stay hearty, healthy and as strong as oxen.
