It seems that even international rating agencies have been afflicted with indecision, so much so that Moody's has postponed giving South Africa a rating.
Clearly this seems more like a very moody rating agency having a mood swing.
As for South Africa, with the elections, the Zondo Commission of Inquiry into state capture (which will go nowhere, ask advocate Thuli Madonsela) and load shedding, Moody's is literally trying to hold back the bad news.
The least it should say is: "same as previous", with a few warning signs.
Moody Moody's really needs to show what it is made of — that's leadership.
