Long jumper Luvo Manyonga has waited four years to shake off his
demons and that moment came on Saturday night as he won a silver medal
at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
An agonising one centimetre stood between Manyonga and a fairytale
ending not even Hollywood would have dreamed up.
But even then, those 10mm somehow added to the drama that is
Manyonga's life story as an Olympic silver medal wouldn't even have
been a remote possibility just a few years ago.
Four years ago the 25 year old lanky long jump star was banned by
Athletics South Africa after testing positive for Tik.
Manyonga, who is based at the University of Pretoria's high
performance centre, dusted himself off and now finds himself in Rio
with a story to inspire.
