Bontle Modiselle takes the reins on "Secure the Bag"

Bontle Modiselle has stepped into the role of host for the second season of "Secure the Bag," the popular show dedicated to empowering young people with financial literacy, entrepreneurial skills, and personal branding insights. The first episode of the new season premiered on July 11, with Modiselle taking over from last season's hosts, Casper Nyovest and Pamela Mtanga.

Speaking to The Citizen, Modiselle expressed her excitement about leading these impactful discussions, acknowledging her initial apprehension about the subject matter. "I am very excited. Initially, I was slightly intimidated because the conversations around finance and financial literacy can be quite daunting," she admitted. "I don't take money lightly, nor do I take the understanding of it lightly. But I was happy to take over as the new host because I think it is important that a familiar voice from a familiar face speaks to things that are genuine and really matter."

Modiselle emphasized her commitment to bringing a personal touch to the show, drawing from her own experiences. "There's nothing more unique than a personal experience. It's the things I've lived, the mistakes I've made, the things I've known and not known. Sharing them from an honest and authentic space brings a unique perspective," she said.

Her goal is to ensure that the panel's insights are relatable and actionable for viewers. "I wanted to make sure that what I brought out of everyone on that panel was their professional knowledge and expertise, shared in a personal way so that the audience can relate, understand, and practically apply the information," she explained.

Modiselle also highlighted the importance of financial literacy within the entertainment industry, recognizing the unique challenges and opportunities faced by those in the creative field.  Her personal experiences and insights combined with the expertise of the show's panel will undoubtedly offer valuable knowledge and guidance to young people navigating the complexities of the modern world, particularly within the entertainment industry.
