Mwah! New barley milk is on SA shelves thanks to @seanwillard

The latest locally-made, plant-based milk to hit supermarkets is a brand dubbed Mwah! and claimed as an SA first….

"Mwah! Barley Milk is a delicious taste of South Africa in every sip, and we're excited to bring a healthy and sustainable dairy alternative to our fellow South Africans." enthuses Sean Willard, founder and CEO of Mwah!

"I couldn't be prouder to say that we are a truly South African brand, created with love and passion right here in our beautiful country. With every step, from conception to crafting the final product, we keep it local."

The launch is on-trend, considering the interest in dairy alternatives, as well as SA's prominent levels of lactose intolerance that affects millions of South Africans.

'"Studies by Storhaug et al reveal a staggering 81% prevalence of lactose intolerance. We believe Mwah! Barley Milk is a groundbreaking solution that promises to revolutionise the dairy alternative market," says Willard.

"Further, it is the perfect blend of good taste, good foam and good texture, providing an exceptional sensory experience."

He describes its manufacture as: "Crafted with love from the finest barley grains. We have carefully formulated Mwah! with cold-pressed, extra virgin, high oleic acid sunflower oil – for its exceptional health benefits.

"Our product not only meets the rigorous standards of Kosher, Halaal, and vegan, but also carries the seal of approval from the Heart and Stroke Foundation eating plan, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the delicious goodness of Mwah! Barley Milk without compromise.

"It can be enjoyed hot or cold, froths beautifully in coffee and adds a decadent richness to tea. Furthermore, the versatility of Mwah! Barley Milk extends beyond beverages, enhancing the flavours of smoothies, baking, cooking, or enjoyed as is."

Mwah! Barley Milk is available for purchase at leading supermarkets and through our online store at www.mwahmilk.co.za. It's currently priced online at R50/litre
